Demon Summoning

Are you new? I present you the multitude of ignored bugs from every beta to date.

And they bring said bugs to light.

Some are simply put aside because they’re not game breaking. Some are not fixable. Some, make me grind my teeth in frustration.

The simple fact is that a beta is a good idea. Don’t know why you would be against it. As i said, it’s up to the developers. I haven’t seen them taking a vote from us.

Every patch has had a PTR and every xpac including vanilla has had a beta. Just because a bug wasn’t fixed doesn’t necessarily mean it was ignored. They could have just not known how to fix it. It also could have not been a bug, but something working as intended and the players just assumed it was a bug because it behaved in ways they didn’t think it should.

I have to wonder why you are so against players being able to test Classic before the official launch.

Excellent point!

I hang mostly in the CSF, you have no idea how many times we’ve told players “Working as intended” .

As I said, as long as the launch date is not pushed back for it.
All those so called bugs will still come to light.

I am not against a beta, I am pointing out that with a beta that is 2nd to launching on time, is no beta at all. It’s a preview. Nothing wrong with that.

The launch date is still more important than the beta.

Or, they could have not had the time. My point exactly.

What launch date? We’ve been told “Summer” . That’s up to September 23rd. Plenty of time for a beta.

Plenty of time for them to open up what they have to the playerbase. That does not mean it’s a beta.

The usage of beta, as you imply, is the exchange of bug finding for bug fixes. How do you know that there is time for this exchange? What if the tasks to launch this “Summer” is all they can fix in on their schedule?

These calls for beta are nothing more than a desire for a preview.

The demo is a perfect example of why you’re wrong.

Plenty was wrong in the demo, that Blizzard thought was correct going in, turns out it was wrong, and one of their most recent blue posts regarding it PROVES we need a beta.

This makes no sense. If they’re doing all they can to find and fix all the bugs they can to meet a window. Having thousands upon thousands of players finding the bugs means they can focus more effort on fixing bugs and more bugs will be found faster.

They have a reference model tho, yes sure they can still miss things, but the problem is that people who are gonna tell how things are wrong are probably wrong themselfs. Why do u think they make it such a big deal to let us know they are 100% right because they actuelly have the old data.

Why would they want all Pserver boys telling them how wrong they are, it would just end up being a huge mess.

They’re going to do that regardless.

When Classic launches, I just want to play the game. I don’t want to be sitting there wasting time reporting twenty bugs that could have been fixed before launch but the dev team missed them.

I’m sure they will and update their games accordingly.

I get your concerns, but I just don’t see them doing a beta with them having all the data already. I think they themselfs can cross reference most stuff themselfs.

Private servers = Frankenstein monster, slapped together by amateurs, not at all a good reference for accuracy. A 15 year old programmed half of your precious private servers…

Conducting a beta in as many environments as possible is just good development. saying they have all the data is a non argument. They have all the data in every patch and expansion too. So… no bugs, right?

What? having all data before hand is a non argument? you got some screws lose?

Wanting to have a beta makes people just come up with pure crap arguments.

Aside from my disapproval of your ad hominem fallacy, I want to say that you couldn’t be further from the truth. More importantly, who are you replying to? What does your comment have to do with the topic of this thread? Are you just jumping on any opportunity to attack others?

I fail to see how you do not find relevance in my post. I also failed to see an argument in your post.

The fact is, a lot of private server programming was done by teenagers. There is no argument there.

What you seem to be forgetting though. We’re not getting 1.12 slapped out there with some things added in.

We’re getting 7.3.5 with just about everything BC+ removed. Who knows how many bugs/difference that’s caused. The more people going over it looking for bugs, the better.
