Delves should go up to Mythic level gear

The number of tantrums over Ky’veza (and now over Prey mechanics) proved that delvers do not want to work to earn things.

Adding higher difficulties to delves is just asking for more hysterics. Delves will always be free at any difficulty level for hunters and warlocks and tanks, but half the classes in the game will have to actually work and gear up and sometimes play defensively to do those upper difficulties. And they’ll pitch a SCREAMING fit starting from week 1 when it’s supposed to be nigh impossible due to gear, all the way to end of season when bad players find out how far below the curve they are but still swear up and down that it’s their class’ fault.

Better to not open that can of worms at all, and simply dial up the M+ difficulty next season to put a lid on all this.

And? Let them scream. How does someone else screaming affect you? It doesn’t.

This argumentation is flaccid.

The dev team doesn’t wanna hear it. And I don’t blame them.

You dont get that from m+ at all though, and if you have mythic track loot, it means you have been using the BAD LUCK PROTECTION SYSTEM i.e the great vault as you primary gearing method. (Great vault replaced the bonus rolls bad luck protection system i belive?)

Which then goes to show there is a fundamental flaw with gear. It’s not good game design when players have to resort to the failsafe as the primary method to acquire gear.

If gearing wasn’t a huge issue, the pros wouldn’t be out there doing splits. They literally do splits to bruteforce against RNG to gear characters.

But again, no problems with loot… /s

Did you know delves are called an endgame pillar? Just like m+ and raiding are!

In my opinion all the end gear and rewards should be available to any type of content, you simply got to boost the difficulty accordingly.

Seems like people are mad at that, like with that logic M+ wouldn’t even exist today.

Then you completely missed the point. I did not point out the gladiator mount because it is exclusive, I pointed it out because it is a reward of effort and skill.

Mythic raiding, M+, and Delves are not equal levels of effort or challenge.
You’re delusional to believe they are.

You want Mythic gear to be earned from an easier source, not an alternative. The answer is no.

I think this is an idea worth consideration. I wouldn’t add them to current level delves, but perhaps a whole new set of tiers for them , +20, etc.

How good can you be solo is something people would find fun. How good you can be in a group is something different.

The problem with this will always be how do you appropriately challenge a blood dk, a sub rogue, and an arcane mage in the same piece of solo content.

Make it as hard as a mythic raid and I’m down for it, but when max level delves are easier and faster than an LFR they should not even be giving the level of gear that they are now.

Only way to do that is to design it similar to the MT where certain specs have a certain challenge.

I highly doubt they’ll do this.

I mean it’s already the case, there’s specific classes better in group content like shamans and there’s classes better for solo content like hunters.

It’s kinda like the meta anyways, if you don’t play the meta in a M+ as a DPS you have a lot more difficulty to get invited or to compete against the meta classes of the moment.

They could give the classes that struggle to do solo content a few new “solo talents” just like the people doing PvP has.

I agree with OP on Delves should go up to Mythic gear, but I’m also would be okay if they make it in above tiers than the current hero gear, and make it extremely hard and challenging, only for diehard sweaty delve players, where the mythic delve tier, you have to at least be in complete Hero 6/6 pieces to have a fighting chance.

Make it as hard as Torghast Season 1 in shadowlands

The difference in solo content is orders of magnitude greater than it is in group content.

62 likes on the OP (which is a high number, sample-wise) seem to disagree with you.

It’s not just being “gifted,” one still has to complete a delve.

The thing people are claiming, is you cannot make it that hard … for some reason. They say it’s impossible.

This is not a way to determine anything. 62 is minuscule for a sample size as well. If views are unique, then 62 out of 2000 is not very great either.

Good point. Here’s your car.

Why though? Mythic content gives you mythic achievements and Mythic ratings. What does gear even have to do with it? Gear is just a tool that helps you get those achievements and hit those milestones. People running just delves are never going to get those.

Compared to the number of likes a typical post gets, which is usually single digits - 62 is very large. The sample or population size is all posts in the forum.

I think nemesis fights are a good example of this not really being the case. I cleared Underpin on tanks and DPS and the level of difficulty felt roughly the same - tanks had to try harder on the shield, took longer to clear (easier to make mistakes), but had an easier time on bombs and general survivability.

Solo content has balancing issues. But group content has its own problems, e.g.: how do you guarantee that everyone in a pug +11 is pulling their own weight? In group content, it’s easy enough to be carried (or boosted) to every piece of gear you want. Plenty of DPS in M+ hold W, don’t interrupt anything, and there’s an infinite supply of the highest tier of loot for them in the revolving door that is the party finder.

Blizzard could make challenging, mostly spec-agnostic content if they wanted to. We’ve already seen it with Ky’veza et al. I think it’s more a question of if they want to invest the resources to do it.
