There is no taunt swapping in Mythic+ and raid tanking has been the easiest role in the game since Vanilla.

Pull sizes based on mobs in certain groups, using mitigation at the right times, building miscle memory, etc.

It’s a fine first step. It’s not perfect, however it’s better than any other system we have had for baby tanks who don’t have friends and don’t want a “trial by fire” approach.

Dude! YOU HAVE TO START SOMEWHERE!

Newbies. Basics. Not +20 keys and mythic raiding. You learn 2+2 before calculus. There us a reason why in the military that basic training is in a controlled environment and not air dropper into battle.

Not sure what your problem is here. Looking for inexperienced tanks to join you so you can yell st them and call them bads or something?

“Trial by fire” is probably more useful because that is going to happen whether people like it or not. Delves are way too braindead to learn anything truly useful.

Because your opinion is wrong. You obviously have no clue why some people are afraid to tank. And its more about the players. But youre just being bring argumentative like you have a thing against learning and or delves. So youre just being a jerk/troll

The only thing braindead is the “akshually” contrarianism you will find in each and every thread on this forum.

Delves are a fine first step and someone who got comfortable with delves is going to 100% do better than someone who buys a shield, switches their spec to prot for the first time and then jumps into dungeons.

Nah, delves are pretty braindead. Each boss has like 2-3 mechanics that basically can be sidestepped out of.

I doubt they will do better, but I doubt they could do worse too. The person jumping straight into dungeons will probably advance at a faster rate.

Yeah I’m sure the instant flaming and players leaving the group are going to help someone gain confidence tremendously.

Yes because that happens in 100% of all groups.

Not sure how anyone learned how to tank before Delves, it’s a mystery.

you can do that in M+ too. I often have to hold back because of others.

It happens enough. And it happens more the newer or worse the tank is.

Someone trying to learn in dungeons would do well to find some chill guild.

I leveled a prot pally and took him into a t11 (today). It was doable, but definitely a learning experience.

Sure. And if they don’t have that right now you’re gonna start out better doing delves than pugging dungeons without ever learning how your spec works or how your particular spec reacts to damage spikes, consistent damage, etc.

ITT people saying “yeah I definitely learned a bit about how this works.”

Basically you- “No, you didn’t.”

If they’re saying theyre new to tanking specs and saying they learned a thing or two then I’ll take their word for it.
