Decided to try out the two new delves tonight to knock out their one-time quests. Brann is able to earn XP during this off-season week, which is cool…except any XP items I am looting from Mislaid Curiosities are going into my bags without being consumed to benefit Brann’s XP. I can’t right-click to use them and am forced to destroy them in order to remove them at all.
EDIT: Also wondering if this is a bug with Brann earning XP from kills when he shouldn’t be yet. Hovering over his level 60 in the companion window doesn’t show me a tooltip right now.

I can confirm getting XP items directly in inventory. I’ll keep them around in hopes they can fix them and apply the XP to Brann after the fact.
I can confirm the “Chunk of companion experience” items are going into my bag as well.
Also Brann doesn’t toss health pots on the ground anymore?! Is that intended or no?

Yep, been going by this since 2006 when I started. This is the main I’ve always stuck with since that time.
Yes I am also getting the chunk of companion xp things going into bag and not applying to Brann.
I too am getting these placed in my bag. Going to dump them into my personal bank if possible and see if they get converted at a later point.
Also, the hotfix today fixed Brann’s behavior in Season 1 delves. He’s back to using his abilities and throwing down pots as a healer.
Also, Brann is getting no, or very little, XP when completing a bountiful delve although he was getting some XP when I killed stuff. These were tier 8 delves so perhaps “real” XP is only available on higher tier delves now.
That was the one I did, (level 8 bountiful) he got xp (it said) from kills and the boss/end of delve but his xp bar hasn’t moved an inch (or even a millimeter) plus all the chunk of companion xps are in my bags as previously stated. Friend did a 10 and had the same issue so… I doubt it’s the level.
My guess is we won’t see real XP from delves this patch until next week, when Season 2 starts.
I’m doing the other new delve right now (Excavation Site 9) as a tier 8 since it’s bountiful, and now am receiving 0 xp from any kills. Brann stuck at 4024/187,500 xp level 60.
Edit: Just looted a mislaid curiosity and brann got 0 xp nor did I receive an item in my inventory like I did before. Only received gold.
Seems like Brann xp is completely disabled till next week 
This is my assumption as well, after doing Site 9 yesterday and looting a curiosity only to receive nothing but gold. It was probably a bug that he was receiving XP from kills at all.
I went into a T8 delve this morning (Fungal Folly) on an alt and Brann was not getting any XP on kills. I also noticed that he wasn’t dropping any health potions so I went back to the entrance and checked to make sure he was set to Healer (he was) but I noticed that all of his abilities were reset/disabled so no potions. I think there is another thread about this…)
Anyway, I exited the delve and set the difficulty back to T1. (I’ve only been doing fungarian T1 delves recently trying to get the violet sporebit pet…) I saw that the description of the T1 (and T8) delve did not include “companion experience” or whatever it usually says.
Long story short, I think folks are right and Brann XP isn’t supposed to start until next week.
