If anything it helps them accrue wealth since they can sell items for more. Gold cap is already in place btw.
People are also smarter than they were 15 years ago. I remember overpaying for enchanting mats because I didn’t want to farm my own. I had no farming alts, didn’t do dungeons and didn’t have money for consumes.
Some people buy gold, definitely, but now that we’re older, we have money management skills and are smart enough to farm things on our own, have alts, etc.
This won’t change for TBC either. People are going to get even better at farming and gold making, especially with dailies being introduced.
Even with dailies, I think they are still a sub 100g /hr farm that had a cap of 10 you could do per day initially. The cap was later raised to 25.
What no way I saved up for my epic flying mount before I quit. I ain’t farming that again.
