Degenerate dungeon speedrunning

how is it miserable when you are zooming through the actual miserable parts of the game (dungeon leveling). They are actually doing you a favor.

lol. Yea I’m sure this is the case…
Most players would welcome the faster easier runs, quicker XP etc.

That makes you the degenerate.

oh crap now I wish I hadn’t deleted my 3x moonfire balance set for my “run through and spam moonfire. just moonfire” bear.

That’s a good logical solution but I don’t think that would be for everyone. I personally would prefer multiple short dungeons that reward let’s say 5000 xp vs a long dungeon that rewarded 10,000 xp.

He’s a warlock. Takes time to get the dots up.

When this happens I just go along for the ride or drop to let some other DPS into the group. It is what it is.

I have been in groups on my shadow priest, where you target something and it dies before you even finish the cast. In groups like that I just ignore my tank assist target macro and do whatever.

No, thank goodness.

Amazingly enough they have a reason and a right to run it too.

Two REALLY easy solutions to your non-existent problem…

  1. Don’t level in dungeons.

  2. Make your own group instead of lazily queuing.

BAM! Solved. You’re welcome.

Yep, if I don’t like a group for whatever reason at all I just deuce :v:

Pro tip: Deuce after killing a boss and you don’t get deserter (30 minute debuff). You’ll still have the 15m CD from using the dungeon finder though.

Deserter - Don’t really care. I can just log and come back a week later.
Or just come back in a few years and death touch everything. I’m usually only in group content anymore because it is required for a zone or story quest.

It’s nice to wait until the end of the expansion to level. The max guys are in there to flex, or help a friend, so you can get your dungeon quest done without having to really pay attention.

I don’t know if I would call those people degenerates…but I can understand where you are coming from. Especially if it is your first time in the dungeon or if you are on a new toon, learning rotations. It can be annoying, especially if the person doing it cant even hold aggro and gets others killed.

I did this all the time in BFA. I’d que as tank and then wreck face as ret on my paladin. It’s easy gold + runes.

The best was when the healer was also dps and we plowed through at top speed.

I had no idea - I’ll be dusting off my old azerite gear then and becoming a Timewalking “degenerate” !

I don’t find it miserable at all, I thank them for the carry and queue again.

…yeah, not gonna apologize for blasting through so I can knock out getting gold and augment runes to sell, finishing a weekly, and finishing a calling in 1 shot. Your displeasure is unfortunately collateral damage. Just sit back and relax and be done in 15 mins. You can create your own heroic group with difficulty-appropriate geared players; I am sure there are others like you!

Not likely. But the WoW team could make it so that auto-queue into normal is disabled past a certain item-level. The problem with that is if a high-level friend is helping you on a low-level toon, that high-level can no longer help you with queued dungeons (unit you get to heroic), therefore I don’t see the dev team implementing such a change.

They could also make it so that you can’t enter a dungeon unless you specialization matches the role you queued for and, like M+, you can’t change your spec once you’re in. That would address people queueing as tank/healer in a DPS spec just to get a faster queue. The problem with that is if Blizz is still going to allow any item-level to queue into normal difficulty, then many high item-level people can clear so quickly and take so little damage you don’t need a real tank or healer; it’s fast and that’s why they’re in there, so the dev team likely won’t change this (unless they also disable normal queues past a certain item-level). Also if a tank/healer drops from normal (didn’t get the drop they wanted on an early boss for example), there’s at least the possibility of a DPS swapping to tank or healer spec inside to continue on. If you’re locked to your role and someone bails the run could be dead (like it is in M+).

There are two weekly quests in Oribos each offering 175 anima and a chunk of rep with the faction of your choice just for doing a dungeon at any difficulty. Of course, people doing these weeklies will auto-queue into normal as it’s the easiest way to get these done.

Additionally, the daily callings from a max-level covenant often can be fulfilled by running a particular dungeon associated with that covenant’s zone. Normal will be the easiest way to do this.

I’m not sure that’s a majority opinion among levelers, but you can always identify the problem and suggest changes via the in-game bug/suggestion tool, which is more likely to be reviewed by the WoW team than any post on the forums. If they get an overwhelming number of suggestions all saying the same thing then maybe there’s a slim chance they might implement some change. Otherwise, you need to just adjust your expectations or avoid situations that have a high likelihood to “make you miserable.”

So make your own group. If my calling can be done in a dungeon and I can kill everything in the dungeon with just fan of knives, I’m going to rush thru it.

Tag along for the easy ride or leave. Makes no difference to me.

These relies made me sick. You guys are destroying the enjoyment of this game for casuals and new players. I will never understand why people want things to be done as fast as possible. If that’s how you view your time why are you playing a video game? What is with people today and the complete inability to do stop and smell the roses?

You start tearing up normal dungeons at like… ilvl 205. I don’t care either way, tbh.
I think most people are leveling/gearing alts and want the entire thing to go as quickly as possible so that they can hit max and move on.

Max level people running normals do it for a quick and easy way to check off a covenant task (I don’t remember what it is, but every once in a while you get an incentive to go into dungeons). When given the choice between

  1. a normal dungeon that requires no thought and will take 10 minutes and
  2. a heroic dungeon that requires a grain of thought and will take 12 minutes
Most people want to check it off ASAP. We’ve outgeared both anyway. I queue for both and run whichever pops.

Because not everyone is there for the first time “experience.” We’re 9+ months into the expansion, most players already have multiple 60s, have done these dungeons hundreds of times, and are likely leveling another alt to 60. They only care about one thing, which is XP/hour. You can argue this until you’re blue in the face, but I’d be willing to bet a lot that you’re in the minority here.

P.S. Posting on a vulpera (a race locked behind a grind) doesn’t help your “casuals/new players” argument.

I’ve always had the most fun blasting away in those runs.

Oh boohoo you clear the dungeon faster and get more xp, how miserable.
