I would guess that he presided over Oribos and acted as the Arbiter did until recently. The Arbiter was created (or removed as part of his essence) to take his role when he was banished to the Maw.
The worst part about all of this? The single most mentally devastating issue with this whole mess is I could see Blizzard pull this angle. I can see them somehow try to make the Jailer come off as sympathetic even after all of this. Because theyâll do it for Sylvanas, theyâll make it seem like she has the worldâs and universeâs best interest in mind so theyâll find a way to spin the plot to make the other Eternal Ones evil.
I hate that I feel like this could happen with these writers.
Sorry, but if the shadowlands fall, reality is basically destroyed. Meaning, an afterlife wonât even matter, because none of it will exist anymore.
We donât need another piss poor attempt at a deviated storyline thatâs meaningless after two conversations.
What?
Anakin was right too.
but what if the maw, was actually the center of all the shadowlands and all of the realms connected and it only became how it is due to the perhaps war or imprisonment or what ever happend to the jailer.
Except we already know it wasnât from what the artists said about its design. Itâs a patchwork of land chained together by Zovaal after he cracked another realm into pieces. Was Torghast itself the center? Probably not, because it wouldâve been made by the First Ones like Oribos and every other realm.
Oh yeah totally.
Sylvanas fanboys will go to great lengths to justify her actions, like this guy, saying Jailerâs views are good, when Jailer is clearly a maniac and did tons of evil, his actions resulting in 90% of blood elves dying, and all of humans in northern eastern kingdoms, but yeah, heâs a good guy.
Letâs let him be in charge instead of Eternal Ones who didntâ do anything wrong, just shaped the world for our characters to live in.
Anyone who thinks Zovaal is good guy is either diehard Sylvanas fanboy or clueless. Heâs a Villain, simple as that.
He had the audacity to seek the knowledge of the Five MacGuffins
The one problem that I have with this is, that the souls that are sent to the Maw that were not supposed to be in the Maw are being tortured. If the Jailer was a nice guy and really wanted to help make the after life better, would he really be torturing souls that donât agree with him. Thereâs an old saying you catch more flies with honey than vinegar. So, shouldnât he be showing those souls how much better his way would be, to gain them as allies.
I think thereâs the potential of a compelling âends justify the meansâ story where thereâs a narrative attempt to justify genocide and torture as a means to serve the greater good.
I donât think itâs here or that Blizzard is remotely capable, but I think that could make the framework for a compelling story.
Wait, am I missing something? The video says he was imprisoned because he tried to take the sigils form the enteral ones (by force) to unlock some forbidden knowledge. Hell he is still trying to get the sigils to unlock this knowledge from the Maw. So basically he is someone who tried to commit a mugging, got caught and is serving time for his crime and this is the guy you now want to support?
Because you are dumb? She started a war to KILL BOTH SIDES off, so the souls could be sent to the Jailer. She never intended for you to survive either, it was always her intent for massive deaths on both sides. Hell she tried to have you killed off in BFA when she lead you into Queen Azshara trap.
I feel like youâre purposely ignoring the fact the Jailer wants to kill Azeroth and all life. If you were to point that out your entire argument just falls.
Is this another thinly veiled Sylvanas supporter thread? Sheâs evil and irredeemable, The Jailerâs pure evil and irredeemable and needs to be taken down NOT sympathized with. Never understood people wanting to side with antagonists.
Something like that would be possible. There is still so much mystery to the past of the Jailer and the Shadowlands realms. I had always assumed that the Maw was always empty and became Hell-like because the Jailer imprisoned souls there, but at one point it might have been fully inhabited and functioning as a central realm.
sylvanas did nothing wrong the alliance and horde traitors did.
You keep telling yourself that.
Iâd love an option to side with the Jailer. Iâd never do it, as I think the main quest will have us freeing Sylvanasâ soul, and thatâs my characters main goal. But, if I wasnât a loyalist itâs something that I might consider.
I alwaya wanted to be an sleeper agent of the dark forces.
I want to be the bad one, witouth to be from the horde :c
Always the Sylvanas supporters that enjoy the awful story, Eh? ![]()
Honestly the âchoiceâ to follow Sylvanas in BfA was already stitched on like the decaying corpse of a conjoined twin, I doubt theyâd go that route again.
