I understand, I’ve played since vanilla, and I’ve had my fair share of burnouts. I also understand how unrewarding doing higher end content feels like when no loot drops for you. Legit, watched 3 hunters I grouped with get the same boots at the beginning of the expansion, and just today got my first boot drop from the vault ever from this expansion. One thing that is very noticeable about Shadowlands is how unfriendly it is to pugs. My best advice is, for your own sanity, if you need to take a break from WoW don’t torture yourself by forcing yourself to play. If you found another MMO to play for awhile go have fun, WoW will still be here most likely when you feel like your ready to come back.
