Decided to level a DK

ugh… this quest is a tricky one indeed. I have made a few DK’s over the years and this quest is highly an rng thing! I never counted how many interrogations i did, but i do remember logging off and back on to another character because i got really bored and tired doing the same thing endlessly!!

As others have stated though, sometimes i got the info in 1 or 2 npc hits… Luck of The Draw!!

Sadly it’s not, the nature of RNG and a string of bad luck can make it 30 or more. It’s not a fun quest.

Pro tip: equip a single poker attack once with auto attack then stop auto attacking. Wait like 2 or 3 secs then hit once again.

Rinse and repeat till you get it. Ever since I started doing that its never taken me more than 1 to finish.

i may be a huge outlier on this, but I swear to god I am not exaggerating. I literally spent 45 minutes to an hour hitting NPCs to get this quest to finish. I think during that time I went and make breakfast came back and continued. It was by far the worst experience Ive had in this game yet, and im new so I havent had very many. But man was it brutal. This was maybe 3 weeks ago.

I already, know about that trick, ive done the quest before, it was just ages ago since i did it last time so i forgot about it, im just mad Blizz hasnt fixed the damn thing.

I know you pain. I too had to interrogate many NPCs but I do not think I reached 30. The most I had to do was 20 and that was the result of competition with other DKs and not doing auto-attacks.

Thank you… that actually made me laugh out loud.

Sadly I don’t think they intend to at this point =/

well you could choose to lvl in the new starter zone I guess you would avoid that, or am I wrong?

Core races get sent to the DK zone

Things like this are all over the game.

You need 6 of an item.

The mobs you are fighting to get those items are few in number. Lets say 10.

You kill 10 and get 1 of the 6 items you need.

You wait for 45 minutes for those 10 to re-appear.

Some Horde player is there and he wipes out the 10 all at once.

You wait another 45 minutes. The Horde player leaves.

You kill another 10 and you get 2 more of the items.

etc etc etc.

This is nothing new.

I have also killed 100 to get 10 items. Nothing dropped. Then I discovered I had been killing the wrong thing.

Back before CATA there were a lot of quests like this with really low drop chances. BC was especially bad for this. During CATA (and even in some parts of WotLK) we saw the beginning of modern questing where each quest is fairly quick to complete.

Honestly though if you think that the DK intro questing is bad, try Shadowmoon Valley in Outland.

Stop murdering them and just autoattack.

The issue with this quest, is that its from a freaking starting zone, and you literally do nothing but auto attack.

I never had a poor chance whenever I did this quest, and I did do it several times. Perhaps I was lucky but as far as I’m aware it’s just a diceroll just like a lot of systems in the game, which means it shouldn’t take too many times to get it down.

Neither hero class can do Exile’s Reach.

Did it on my second try. The first one failed because the NPC was killed by another player.

He’s just a closet sadist.

Well isnt that the whole thing about DKs?
