Ok! Got an update from a GM, and it’s not all bad. They’re aware of the issue, they regard it as an issue, and confirmed it’s something they want to fix - but no ETA on it 
Here’s a snippet of the response I got:
“After doing some digging on my end it looks like you might be experiencing something not intended by design. Currently, we have actually gotten quite a few reports on this and our Devs can confirm it’s not working the way it should be. At the moment, I’m afraid we don’t have an ETA on how quick the Devs will have it fixed…”
