Dear zoomer, please let the tank pull

I go at my own pace when tanking, and if DPS don’t like it, tough. I don’t have fun trying to pull the entire instance at once and if DPS want to take pulling into their own hands, then have fun. I won’t be involved and all you’re doing is making the healer suffer, so grats for that.

You can try to kick me if you want, and possibly even succeed, but have fun waiting for another tank while I get in another dungeon instantly.

Based and manapilled.

Kick all zoomie hunters, mages, and warlocks.

The funny thing is you probably think those people are no life degenerates when the reality is those people actually just care more about their own time being wasted more than you do.

If you pull too slow then ill misdirect to my pet and do the dungeon faster. I’ve seen havoc demon hunters pull everything and its amazing. Im sick of slow tanks

Lol you do not even know what you are talking about, that is not how real M+ works.

CoD is older than zoomers are. Not exactly a zoomer game.

If you wiped in a non timed content at this stage of the game, its because the healer or the tank are trash.

  1. You’re a warlock
  2. Be a better tank and I won’t

After reading this thread I’ve come to the conclusion that I am actually the tank.

 Fair. That one tavern in Silverymoon, was it?

Yeah, that happens a lot. Work security sometime. What you run into is pretty crazy.

I see “good” as mechanically good and knowing what they’re doing. What you mean is a “nice” tank. I am a “mean” tank. A good, MEAN tank. I’m perfectly willing to work with the party, but I won’t let people walk all over me. If they think they can do that, I start playing dwarf fortress with my party. If you communicate your approach? 's all good. If you think I’m a telepath and then don’t answer when I ask you what kind of strategy you’re running here, so, y’know, the rest of the group knows, too? Then we can play “boogada booga la moola”.

Respectfully… No…

haha charge go ZRRRRR

Don’t know if you’re aware of this, but the way they designed the game, it wasn’t the tank who pulled. It was in fact the role of the ranged DPS to pull the pack, and the tank to gather them up and hold them when they got to the group.

That’s changed over time (for various reasons), but the notion that the tank has to have total control over all aspects of the run is very silly indeed.

If you are talking about the Hunter and redirect, that skill was meant to assist the tank, not replace him.

You gotta remember that the “trinity” existed before WoW, and WoW was based on Everquest and SWG (and others), trinity MMOs.

I know. I was there.

Lemme guess, you’re that guy who waits ten seconds before every single pull?

“My pet can tank! Solution!”

I’m not talking about a specific hunter skill, I’m talking about the initial pull. Nothing about ‘replacing’ the tank, either. A DPS pulled, and that mob got burned down while the tank juggled the rest, and the party burned down each mob in turn.

It required some skill (and coordination) on the part of everyone, but that’s the way the game was originally designed. It wasn’t about one player dictating to the group, on the theory that they were all gibbering idiots.

I’m well aware of WoW’s origins. What you don’t seem to grasp is you aren’t the only one with years of game experience. Stopping trying to talk down to people as if they’re ignorant children and if you’re serious about this, actually try to engage in a conversation.

People on GD also don’t do content that matters 90% of the time. This sort of behavior is only actually present in like random heroics or super low keys which are pretty much soloable by higher geared players that are competent. Any tank that actually does like +12 or higher keys or whatever isn’t going to care about a dps pulling for them because they are going to just pick up the mobs anyway instead of throwing a hissy fit. If anything no one is going to complain about the run going faster since at that point people are there solely for loot, not to go have tons of fun on awful weeks for keys like last week.

I gladly pull for tanks on my RShaman if they aren’t pulling enough to require me to heal and it isn’t like Bolstering Week that will actively punish me to do so. RShaman dungeon dps is doodoo compared to RDruid and HPal so if I am not healing it isn’t like I am going to burst for 80k like a Paladin with wings.

Yeahhhh, sorry can’t agree with your assessment of that (think its way off actually). I can believe you, or my lying eyes.

Tanks pulled because they needed to hold aggro, its that simple. Except for the Hunter class with Redirect, other DPS classes could not transfer the aggro to the tank.

We must of been playing two different WoWs back then.

And I can grasp that I wasn’t the only one, I know, I ran a guild full of people back then at one point. No need to be insulting.

This is a holdover from when there were fewer bad tanks and even bad tanks needed time to improve and get good. You were also kinda stuck with them. That isn’t how it is now for better and often worse. If a tank is too slow in random dungeons and stuff, forget it. Just pull. And by ‘too slow’ I don’t mean “isn’t sperg pulling the entire dungeon at once”, I’m sure you’ve had a tank that just sits there staring at mobs in Ramps for 20 seconds between pulls thinking about his life. No tolerance for that nonsense. Just pull.

Use your reasoning. Sometimes the DPS are being impatient ADHD spazzes and should be kicked. Sometimes the tank is too slow and useless and should be kicked or at least ignored and told to hurry up. If he doesn’t or you can’t be bothered, kick him.
