Dear Warlocks

Dear Warlocks,

If you become too addicted to Life Tap, and take no measures to eat/drink/bandage between pulls, I will not heal you. I am not a subsidy for your mana bar.

I understand that occasionally mid-fight you run out of mana and need to life tap, but when I top you off at the end of a pull, it doesn’t mean life tap yourself back down to 5% hp and expect more heals.

If you die to random AOE because I stopped healing you when you had every opportunity to eat/drink/bandage, don’t get mad at me please because it’s really your fault <3

Sincerely,
Healer

EDIT: Please let me clarify, that MOST warlocks are fine. I am complaining about a minority of warlocks that give your class a bad name (like Huntards who leave Growl on , etc. etc.).

I am 100% OK with a warlock life tapping in-combat, and I realize that its important for keeping up DPS. Since I am already casting, it’s easy to toss a small heal to the warlock while healing the tank, and I barely lose any mana.

My main issue is when we have DOWNTIME between pulls, and the rest of us are sitting down to eat/drink, and suddenly the warlock life taps to 5% hp, and then stands there like an idiot for the next 30 seconds waiting for a heal when he could instead be eating/drinking like the rest of us, or bandaging at least.

here’s what I read:

“waaah, I don’t like doing my job, woe is me!”

that said, if I’m in a dungeon you never won’t find me with a recently bandaged debuff because I know healers need to drink, and I only life tap while they’re actively healing so they don’t need to break mp5 just to top me off.

Dear Warlocks,

Please Life Tap in between pulls. I try to stay topped off anyways and restoring a full mana bar to you for ~400 mana before I drink greatly speeds up clears. I’d rather spend the mana on your extra DPS, rather than spend it on the tank getting hit for longer while you wand or use dumpster tier DPS moves like Drain Life.

Dear healer, please don’t ask me for a summon when you had every opportunity to walk there. See how that works?

This random baddie healer3435 complaining about warlocks is getting old. Isn’t it time to come up with something original to complain about?

Dear Warlock,

Stop fearing the mobs into packs we haven’t pulled yet.

Thanks,
The Huntard in your group.

umm umm umm… dear warlock, why are your health stones green?! I don’t like green food. Please turn them purple!

If all I do is eat and drink then I’ll never tap into my inner conscious to be the great dps I was meant to be.

Gee, i wonder how mages do such great DPS with having to drink all the time.

Dear Huntard and Warlocks,

Please for the love of GOD dismiss your pet before we jump down to Incendius in BRD. As much as I enjoy big pulls, I’d rather not see 100 pissed off Dark Iron Dwarves sprinting at me.

Thanks,

Everyone

How many mages do you see having to stop in the middle of the fight to sit and drink?

imps can’t pull mobs if they’re phase shifted

who’s using anything other than an imp in brd? seems like a waste of a soul shard to me

VW shield + hellfire = big pulls and dead mobs.

yea i guess if you’re doing exp farms thats good, i never did in brd lol

Dear rogues,

Don’t change a thing, stay cute

Okay, but only for Incendius. No promises for Rend.

I’m sure there’s some pepega out there who has done it. Considering we had to kick a mage last night for face pulling 3 groups in a row and aoeing in the bar, there’s bound to be someone.

Don’t get me wrong, I don’t mind healing warlocks who life tap responsibly if it keeps the group moving, but they should also be considerate and eat/drink/bandage when a good opportunity arises.

I had a warlock yesterday/today who never bothered to eat/drink or bandage. I replaced the warlock with a hunter, and we sailed through just as quick on subsequent runs, but I didn’t have to babysit a lazy warlock.

Solution? Don’t invite a warlock

ok but on a more serious note, the better healers I’ve played with have told me I should be life tapping more, not less. And I life tap a lot as is. Tapping less frequently, no matter where or when the taps occur, does nothing but slow the dungeon down. Unless you’re literally oom, you can spare the what, 2-300 mana a downranked heal costs to cover more than what I lose in a tap.

Agreed. I remember when I was maining lock back in TBC, most of the good healers always to me to tap so we can kill things faster.
