A player who knows how to play his character well will always triumph over those who don’t know how to play their class well regardless of gear.
Back during original TBC, I had a level 70 Rogue duel me. I was on my 63 Hunter. I literally kicked his butt as I had roughly 90% of my health remaining when I won the duel. It was rather easy to be honest. Flared him out of stealth, popped Bestial Wrath then intimidate, kited him around and pushed his crap in, game over. He tried to claim he went easy so we dueled again after CD’s were up. Still beat him, not as bad as first time, I had lost a little more health but still won. He wasn’t happy as the duel took place in front of a large group of players in front of Org were people like to duel.
On this same character I got jumped by a level 48 druid when I was level 43. This was an epic fight that last for ever it seemed. Well, it lasted long enough for me to cast Scare Beast 4 times(Back then it had a 2 min Cd and lasted for 30 secs). Yes, Scare Beast worked while the Druid was in cat form, I was just as shocked when it worked lol. I lost this fight because back then Hunters used mana and I ran out when the Druids health was around 10%. When they popped out of the last Scare Beast I had nothing left so they were able to finish me off. Because I put up a hell of a fight I had earned the respect of this Druid. When I rezzed, the Druid ran up to me and /wave, /bowed and /saluted me then ran off.
So yes, in Classic, knowing how to play your class and use all the abilities to their fullest means everything.

Image losing to a warrior as a mage when he isn’t even 10 levels higher than you and you are wearing greens…

How bad does a mage have to be to lose to a warrior in greens? I must meet this person!

Bad druid. All druid has to do to beat a hunter is cast hots then spam moonfire while meleeing. They’ll win 99% of the time while the hunter feels like trash cause they can’t do anything about it. The hots outheal hunter melee + pet dmg.
Tuning classes is something they should’ve done pre launch. I wish they would’ve fixed some actual issues with many classes. But it’s too late now, it is what it is. If you’re not a warrior or mage you’re a second class citizen in classic.
You should just quit, that’ll show them that you mean business.

everyone that pvp’s should play warrior at some point to enjoy the gross overpowered prowess
