Back in BC when I first started I asked my mage friend who I knew in real life to heal something for me and she was like “mages can’t heal” and I in my daisy fresh noobness responded “But you have mana”

Healers are a formality for magic dispel.
I dont necessarily disagree. But just imagine the potential for abuse for troll lulz.
There are so many dispels that never get used these days. Mages, non-holy paladins, Kyrian anything, potions, etc. It’s because in the eyes of n00bs, even the ones that have been playing since vanilla, everyone has their assigned roles and doing anything other than that means their DPS drops.
So many DPS have screamed in /p, “I’m a DPS, not a healer!” or, “I do damage, tanks interrupt!”
These are the ones that will never get anywhere. Refusing to use the majority of their tool-kit. Then they don’t have fun and blame the game when they don’t win.

It isnt necessarily. I think though, the point may be if you ask the group “hey want me to faceroll this so everyone can get on with their lives” and the overwhelming response is absolutely, then i say go for it. But theres has to be some groups that are in there to learn how to play it right too.
I think the biggest problem in this game is how blizzard has ensured that communication is the least needed attribute in an MMO that should essentially rely on it.

Its a pretty safe assumption that most groups want to finish a dungeon as quickly as reasonably possible. Like i said previously, ive had maybe 1 actual complaint about it over several years. Communication only goes so far. No amount of text is going to kill the bad dudes. Actually pressing buttons does.

Considering that the standard seems to be go fast, the “I want to go slow” folks are the ones who should be asking for a vote on doing it their way IMO.

Most players’, judging by the constant stream of complaints about every group doing things that way.
I dunno… i mean its a tired argument by now but the complaints on the forums arent necessarily indicative of “most players”, but who knows.
Yes, the people doing the complaining are not most players, but the thing they’re complaining about is the widespread acceptance of fast dungeon runs.
You have to remember OP, those same tanks are tanking for DPS who think that the tank can pull like a mythically geared tank in a heroic dungeon.
Those DPS will pull for the tank, and/or try and run ahead of them and expect you the healer to keep them alive through it. Not only that, there’s a portion of healers that will do the same.
Tanks are conditioned to speed pull in order to not get kicked from the dungeon for going too slowly. (They actually probably won’t get kicked, but they think they will.) Or simply to stay ahead of the group.
In the meantime, this is one of those weeks where even hyper geared tanks are trying to AOE facepull in M+ and then wondering why the healer can’t keep them up. The only thing that actually gets better is that the healers get better gear.

the problem in at least a few cases, is that the dungeon is scaled down in leveling content and if an alt Tank is bfa Heroic Raid geared or Mythic Raid Geared and just started leveling now, they have better gear than a fresh level 60. ~130 ilvl and content thinking they have like sub 90 ilvl or something like that.
but sure, you shouldn’t be out of mana if that’s the cases because they would be fine on their own.
More likely they’ll kick the healer. lol

uh 50 something tank clearing dungeons in 5min is normal/fast leveling. why on earth would you complain
Lots of tanks that don’t have much business being tanks in this thread.
DPS with privilege at this point.
Perhaps tanks should feel out their healers capabilities before going full force. Some people can handle healing big pulls while leveling and others can’t. The type of healer also makes a difference as well as whether or not they have their aoe heals yet or are working with only single target heals.
