Anniversary dying. Sod dead. Era beyond dead. Classic is over. Speed up anniversary and launch TBC. Force era over no point in hosting a server with 10-12k players across 30 servers when sod(a dead game) has more just sitting in org on 1 server. TBC needs to come quick then go to wrath quick then reset again. Full vanilla to wrath cycles in about 2 year span. On repeat no era needed. Bads can just leave tbh they ruin the game anyways.

Eventually this forum will be as dead as the Diablo3 forums – with only Cezar and Eyr occasionally posting some thought vaguely related to Level 60 WoW.

I am kinda interested in playing Diablo3 again. I havent played since the expansion was released (that I bought but never played).

D2 is STILL better than D3 and what is D4?
D4 might be one of the worse games to date.
They had the winning lottery ticket in D2 to make D3 and on into the future and they put out that garbage.

I think they should have Ladder and non-Ladder (Era) for at least Vanilla → TBC → Wrath servers. They could do something like a faster pace, or stagger the ladder resets, such that you have at least one fresh every year, or less.

We don’t need era. It has less players than a single city on anniversary currently. Just cycle through the 3 easily. If you wanted vanilla TBC and wrath separately cycling from fresh across the year that’s fine. So you would have ur option, but an era server that exists for 10+ years is very silly. The population shows people like fresh over stale. Also should bring classic back to the no changes. 1.13 patch.

I don’t think it is. Just like they do with Diablo 2, Ladder and Normal, and Ladder season convert to Normal at the end of the ladder. This would mean something like 3-year cycles for the ladder seasons, if Classic → TBC → Wrath, and 1 ladder reset per year, if you wanted to ride the ladder.
Otherwise, Era servers would exist for each version.

They have a purpose for era beyond what you think era is
They keep it there to cycle transfers from hardcore to it, and from these expansion reruns
That’s the whole reason hardcore gets a big player wave when it gets rehyped. So you can xfer after you die
They’ll do a TBC era for the same deal. Probably even wrath

hard disagree i loved D2 back when it was released the release of LoD but when i went back to it last year with D2R it was fun replaying the story but grinding those runewards and bases was awful and i stopped after beating hell
just not a game for me anymore but im glad others still enjoy it

You can’t xfer from Defias Pillager to anniversary btw, because DP is the “hardcore era” and it is naxx phase.
The hardcore server on anniversary mirrors night slayer phases for a reason. Once anniversary goes to TBC, it’s safe to assume they’ll redirect xfers to Whitemane, unless they for whatever reason do a tbc HC

A cycle between the 3 would be good, but make vanilla like 3 months max and then jump right to tbc
why would you want to force people to play the way you want? if some people enjoy playing era then let them be.
blizzard should just have vanilla era / tbc era / wrath era! and people can enjoy the expansion they love.

I am old and played the hell out of D2 way back in the day. The D2 revival was short lived for me, but I still go back and play D3. See that? Our opinions are different. Can’t wait to come back and watch you tell me I’m wrong, though.

Could say the same with gdkp. Or the moderations within the game. You can’t say certain things. Can’t bet gold for items. Can’t buy gold. Why are you currently restricting they way people play.
