At this point it’s basically just a case of Blizzard going “it’s simpler and easier for us to just ignore the OCE playerbase and keep them in lock step with NA, so that’s what we’re going to do” rather than giving us a decent explanation for it.
Hell, at minimum just convert the in-game times to our local time zone properly. The in-game calendar has been broken for who knows how long.
I ended up buying the toy [Jar of Sunwarmed Sand] that makes it daylight, but it has a 24h cooldown (which isn’t that bad) but you lose the buff on death.
If this persisted through death, that would solve my problem of playing in NZ.
Yeah the toy needs a major fix. Even with the new assaults, Blizzard don’t seem to have much of a problem in changing the skybox. Fixing this issue would make alot of OCE players happy.
They stopped caring a long time ago. Accept it and move on. I have.

Omg this! Im sick of playing in the dark and only getting to see the gorgeous colours I pay for if I play past midnight Australia time. This also goes hand in hand with Tuesday night maintenance- peak playing time for anyone over 12. Sigh c’mon Blizz make it right.
Agreed and if they insist on a toy or whatever then make it standard issue no cost and renewable not consumable- 1 click and it’s good to go until so that the players who are paying are able to control the in game visuals and not constantly be in the dead of night. Could not agree more I’m sick of the muted tones of night time.
Agreed! It seems like a small thing, right? But it really does make a difference. Wish they would fix it 
I heard the game looks great during the ingame day time.
I am pretty sure it stuffing with my eyes during the real world day time. Day in game, bright in real life. The day night cycle should be looked at in a health and safety issue kind of way.
Day vs night doesn’t seem that different. That being said i do not understand why there isn’t a timezone toggle.
I bought BfA and paid subscription, and I have different experiences compare to player that live in US, it shouldn’t be like that.
I just hope they can fix it in shadowlands, or I will just choose the covenant that have light , like the bastion. Unless bastion have night time mode.
I, for one, would really like this fixed for SL. It’s been an issue since the end of Draenor and we want to see a reasonable fix to the skybox issue. Too long has this problem been swept under the rug by Blizzard without having an understanding of how terrible it is playing in constant darkness.
At the very least, they should remove the ridiculous 24 hour CD on the Sunwarmed Toy item and additionally make the buff persist through death so that we can choose to play in the daylight when we wish without restrictions.
Imagine if the situation was reversed and the U.S realms were forced to play on the OCE skybox and calendar. There would be complaints left, right and center. But because we are the ‘minority’, apparently our perception of gameplay doesn’t matter. C’mon Blizzard, you can do better than that - give us an equal chance to play the game in our proper day/night cycle, just like U.S players can, even if it’s just a band-aid fix of removing the 24 hour CD off the toy.

PLEASE CHANGE THE COOLDOWN of the jar of sunwarmed sand. 2 hours isn’t enough per day, please blizzard. Adding it was fantastic but it just isn’t working well enough. Please let it persist until we turn it off and through death and not have a cooldown. PLaying in the dark is a disadvantage as well as depressing.
I want to point out that the opposite toy to this (the Shadescale which turns the skybox to midnight) has a 1 hour cooldown!!! Please don’t nerf the shadescale blizzard and instead buff the jar of sunwarmed sand to match at least the shadescale. It makes zero sense to have an identical item do an almost identical thing yet be worlds apart in useability. the only difference is playing in daylight is something a whole country needs (Australia) and having a long and unnecessary cooldown makes it feel like you are just being spiteful…
So the new CM is as useless as all the other ones. Good to know.
