Darkshore vs westfall at level 12

and billions of dollars?

You could be right, but that is why I love it. It is depressingly simple and ranks high on my nostalgia meter.

I feel like Iā€™d have to be in a certain mood to really enjoy leveling in Darkshore with its ā€œenchanted gloomā€ feel. Westfall is nice to quest in almost any time.

Westfall is probably my favorite zone in Vanilla. Itā€™s just a damn beautiful zone thatā€™s really well designed.

By the time I settled on this character, I had seen bits of Darkshore on my first char (Nelf Rogue) and basically all of Westfall on my 2nd / 3rd chars (Dwarf Hunter and Paladin). When it came to this guy, I decided to go to Darnassus to learn the Bow skill and then decided to stick around for Darkshore.

Darkshore all the way.

Lol ok you make it to 60 before anyone else on your server. Then what? No one around to group with, so you get to hang around the forums complaining that the game sucks??

I have vanilla-Westfall committed to memory, was always my go-to leveling zone, so Iā€™ll be taking that route since I already remember what to do and where to go. Still not sure what class to beā€¦ H-Paladin, G-Mageā€¦ choices choicesā€¦

idk about speed but Darkshore is more fun, those buzz boxes are a breath of fresh air

Normally Iā€™d say areas like Westfall, but with sharding it might not matter as unless youā€™re lucky itā€™ll just be a full shard for that continent. Iā€™m mostly going to the nelf area for the rep though.

Yo playa I got watchoo need, but be discreet ya know what Iā€™m sayin?

And one of the first zones designed, too!

No. Dun Morogh, Loch Modan, and Wetlands are excellent leveling zones. So are Dark Shore and Ashenvale. After that, if they stay true to classic, will come some jumping around. All the zones have something to offer, and provide interesting adventures all on their own. Much better, I might add, than the dismal leveling-on-rails that got implemented in Cataclysm. I look forward to the elite Ogres and such again as well.

I mapped out where id be at each location, knock out quests in darkshore until you hit level 15 then move over to westfall, you still get exp for old blanchy then knock out defias brotherhood. Pop over to redridge when you are getting close to 20, i remember them having some quests that go grey around that time. Then move to where the quests are the greenest. Darkshore has a high concentration of level 12-14 quests then it shoots up to level 17-19. Westfall is more consistent but I try to do all my quests before they go green on me for faction reputation.

Westfall was always my preferred. Why?

You could enter at level 13 and didnā€™t have to leave until ~24/25

It is not the most efficient for DPS classes. But for priests who could start DM grouping at level 15 with pugs and continue until ~24/25 it was the best place if you didnā€™t have reliable grouping partners.

Of course that is only for a launch fresh server. You need a steady and constant population to chain run dead mines with pugs.

As for westfall at level 12ā€¦ yea you canā€¦ butā€¦ 12-13 is a serious grind if you do it all in westfall given the mobs difficulty.

Whenever I leveled an alt prior to the Cata changes I always leveled through Darkshore instead of Westfall. The only real downside was how long the zone was and I though there could have been another flight point on the Astranaar end.

LOLā€¦ not in vanilla.

So many people are going to be in for a shock. When they have to walk EVERYWHERE!

Barrens only has 2 flight path in vanilla.

I know. I have seen a few comments or questions (classic in general, not just here) where Iā€™m just sitting here chuckling to myselfā€¦ /popcorn

the deadmines is more interesting than anything in darkshore

yeah, I think I have leveled up once at darkshore in my wow career. lol

It should be darkshore vs loch modan/westfall. Then the clear answer becomes both westfall and loch modan

Westfall 11-14
Loch modan 14-17 (including the elite ogres is hard)
Westfall 17-19
Deadmines 19-20
Redridge 20-24
Wetlands 24-28
