I agree with all the others about collecting heirlooms. Consider what alts you think you might be playing in the future and prioritize the heirlooms that might help them out the most. That said, one of the most useful heirloom items I got early on was the Venerable Mass of McGowen.
But if you want to get something a little more fun, you can try for the swift forest strider mount. Who wouldn't want to ride a monstrous purple ostrich for their mount?
On a side note, following up on someone else's comment, I don't know if it's correct that free-to-plays can't collect the treasure chest in the Darkmoon deathmatch arena. I never really hung out there at all, but I know that free-to-plays definitely CAN collect the chests from the Gurubashi arena. So I don't know why Darkmoon would be any different. Give it a shot and try it out.
ok I will try it next month
also I like the strider idea since im a ranger and work a lot with birds

Mail with agility.
There may be two for each slot, one will have haste as the major secondary stat, the other will have crit but the primary stat - agi will be the same for both.
Cloak with agility.
On my f2p Hunter's, I usually make the weapon the top priority as killing things faster with the bis ranged weapon below level 21 makes leveling faster by itself.
the gun looks kind of meh but the bow looks cool.
thanks I think I will try for the bow

cloaks are from guilds so that's out for him. the gun is from pvp marks of honor and my hoard L20 hunter had to win 30+ matches before he got 1 MoH so don't count on getting many of those.
i would agree get the bow and/or agility staff (if you like survival) first. note that gear you get from dungeons or quests will be level 23 but heirlooms will be your level +4 so 24 when you hit 20 also winning pvp (your ally so don't count on it much) will sometimes get you level 26 gear (rng so meh it's rare to start with and i've gotten the same 26 gear 4 times). you can look at this characters armory. i have 2 L26 weapons from pvp, my trinkets are heirlooms so are L24 and the rest is L23 gear (i set bonus for the extra intel), oh and i have a ring from the Halloween event so it's L24 but i'll trade that in if i get a ring with intel on it.
p.s. if you want to do f2p crafting here is what works.
Enchanting: you can get +4 hp from enchanting by enchanting your chest and bracer with a +2 hp enchant (don't use +1 stamina it don't work) and if you use intell you can make a +3 intell flask that will stay after death. (important if you pvp). you can also use valums to save some enchants for later and ditch the prof for another. there is a +1 to doge but i think you only benefit from it if you're in a tank role.
leatherworking: you'll find better gear than anything you can craft but i bring up LW because it has a +1 reinforcements enchant. don't bother with these the ones you can make don't work.
armor smithing: you can make temp weapon enchants for melee classes.
engineering: you can make a +1 enchant for your bow/gun (you can also find the scope in dead mines by looting the boxes near the reaperbot boss. there should be 2-3 boxes but its not a 100% drop chance). you can also make dynamite this is used as a really crappy rogue detector in pvp.
alchemy: anything good here you must be lucky enough to find from drops. there is a agi potion but the buff is lost if you die and there's a dash potion. the healing potions you can make are junk at L20 and you can buy better from vendor's around storm wind.
cooking: is ok for pve stuff but the buff's are lost if you die so worthless in pvp.
scribing: its like cooking you can make some ok temp buffs but they are lost if you die.
the rest of the prof are junk unless you're say taking alchamy and herbalism. (engineering and armorsmith need mining btw)
No longer need MoH to purchase the gun. You can now get it with DmF tickets, and, I believe, gold from N heirloom vendor.
