I never said they were, just that they have an invitation to do so.

I think I mentioned before but I think the invitation might be in the book that came after. But I’m not sure.
Yeah, might be in shadows rising, unsure.
People suspect it’ll be a neutral race with Night Elves & Thalassian elves, which would be interesting. I wonder if both variants would be neutral, where both the alliance and horde get both types of undead elves. I almost lean on speculating that could be the case.

As of right now, nobody knows if it’s just each faction getting their elf, each faction getting the other’s elf only, or both factions getting both elves. That’s why I’m excited: nobody knows

I hope it’s each faction gets their elf or both factions get both elves myself! I think it’d be really cool for both, especially given neutrality is growing to be more and more of a thing. We’ll have to see, but yeah, I will admit there’s many signs pointing to this potentially being an Allied Race.
Though, alternatively, it could be a ‘night warrior’ like questline for lots of customization, as a recent interview with a question regarding dark rangers from T&E cited that specifically as a ‘time is right thing’ with the night elves as an example with the night warrior. Big hm!

so you cant provide a source. i actually read that book. there is no point in it where the alliance offers membership to forsaken night elves. and honestly why would they…they were shown active in the war campaign even after battle of darkshore. sira moonwarden only continued to give them a bad rap in shadows rising
There’s too many files pointing towards allied race for me to think it’s just customization: You don’t need an extra race intro music file and extra undead voice lines when the ones already in live work perfectly.

Regardless of what the quest says or book (my hubby who did read it doesn’t remember any mention of the Darkfallen nelves) says, I do think there is a fairly high chance that either the Horde will get both options or both the Horde and Alliance will get their respective ones.
Really depends if they did it as an AR or customizations imo.
I’m not really a big fan myself of the nelf Dark Rangers though. Much more excited about what this means for blood elves/Horde.

I think they will make one AR total, but there will different models for each faction. The Horde will get the Blood Elf based ones. The Alliance will get the Night Elf ones after Tyrande and crew explain the Jailer’s plot to them, and they return to the Alliance.
There will probably be a common set of color palettes, racial abilities, and heritage armor for both though. Basically neutral, but not only will they have different factions like Huojin and Tushui on Pandaren, they will have different models as well.
i just dont see alliance getting a forsaken themed race. yeah it happened with blood elves but i still dont see this one happening. its a horde thing
i vaguely remember during bfa quests related to darkshore that not all night elves could be raised into undeath. those that did felt abandoned and wanted to lash out. i could be wrong but i dont see them wanting to go back. theyre forsaken now figuratively and literally

Tbf I’m mostly assuming from a leak that was otherwise 90% right, and the few this datamined.
I don’t want to give the impression I’m like 100% sure, I just think if it is one AR they would make em neutral.
That the Devs have indicated a night warrior style thing though it very well could just be customizations for a race being unlocked via quest.
I don’t much enjoy the idea of what is a Horde thing (undead/Forsaken) being given to the Alliance, especially when the fallen night elves turned on their kin just after so much loss to join their enemy.
It both doesn’t feel good to me on a lore or theme setup.

I don’t want San’layn or traditional Dark Rangers alliance, those deserve to be Horde. I want the Night Elves, who have been explicitly given an invitation to join the Alliance, and have expressed a desire to rejoin the Alliance, and have never really been a horde thing, to be Alliance, because they are Alliance.
And until there’s a new build with more dataminable information, all we can do is speculate based on the datamining we have.
