They would always say things like I’ll wait a couple expansion before coming back just to confirm their suspicions about blizzard design philosophy would still follow legion / BFA / shadowlands. And yet nothing and still waiting longer just to keep hoping for their suspicions to be confirmed.

Midnight / last Titan remains the same as war within and yet these same people would say the same thing waiting until blizzard would do something to confirm their suspicions.
I think it’s best blizzard would stop trying to cater to these people. Or even try to get them back. And I do know those people exist and I would not try to get them back whatsoever.
I feel like this is a conversation started mid-sentence.
Also, of course Blizzard want players to return. It’s a market of a known quantity of previous fans, it’s the easiest market to tap into.

Welcome to how business works. They already have you so whatever you think is irrelevant. Catering to you or others like you doesnt grow revenues. It just stagnates. Ill just say its a good thing you’re not running things.
And yet those same cynics would assume the housing system would be like any other system. And has stuff tied to it and would force them to do them to gain power and this and that and thinking there is a catch with the housing system. And yet when housing gets new update nothing is there to confirm their cynicism or suspicions.
But there are some cynical people who come back.
What is Blizzard doing to cater to cynics that you feel they should stop doing?
Well, what I keep on seeing from these people are that they are still waiting until blizzard introduce a new borrowed power system just to confirm their little suspicions. And also, waiting to see what new legion / BFA / shadowlands controversial systems would make it on the supposedly new era of WOW post borrowed power. And so you tell me on why keep on trying to cater to these type of cynics when they are waiting until blizzard introduces a new borrowed power system just to say “see luckily I waited and keep on saying see blizzard hasn’t changed.”
Is your theory that Blizzard only creates content with a catch because cynical people are forecasting that they will?
Because that’s a pretty wild take.
It’s not my take. I am just saying these types of people on the internet who are out there hoping blizzard to make something that would make them say “see, what did I told you they haven’t changed.”
Nobody is hoping for Blizzard to compel people to engage with housing it’s just almost a certainty that they will.

I only come back two expacs later to solo things I did not do when it was current. Benefits of scaling and a casual, solo nature. But I agree, there are several cynics on this sight who call everything boring or cringe, yet still pay a sub to be here. Not sure why they torture themselves.

I don’t see how Blizzard is catering to somebody who chooses to lurk around. They cater to those who are playing.
