In the immortal words of Hulk Hogan, “Bro, how can you drop yet another set of new store mounts before fixing bugs, answering forum posts, etc? You got me, bro.”
From a business standpoint as a company that large they DGAF about the minority when such an overwhelming amount of income flows in from the idiots paying so much for them. Those people are willing to spend 60+$ for some knickknacks and they know it’s going to make a crapload more money to push out a mount than it does keeping subs to a game they’re letting die.
It’s easy to blame Blizzard but at this point it’s a Microsoft problem. The game is owned by such a large entity they could delete MoP servers without notice and it would be pennies to lose if any at all.
It’s a consumer problem. It’s speculated that 1 in 5 accounts own that Brutosaur mount that sold for $90. And with the guestimated subscriber numbers at the time, Blizzard possibly made around $91mil from it. And players were forming in-game parades to celebrate their purchase. People want to flex their “disposable income” in whatever world they live in, even an imaginary one.
Yup, people have no restraint, they buy and then complain later down the road on “why is this not fixed, dead game” etc… People that buy mounts/store items are the problem, I can’t tell you how to spend your money, but I can advise that if you have a product and there are issues, why give them more money, all it does it fuel the fire, it affects everyone that plays the game even if you care or not.
because they don’t have engineers working on mop classic. they have artists working on pets and shop items to suck your money in before they shut mop down.
Wow in this day and age has become a system of how much $$ the shareholders make per quarter, and every quarter they want more, hence why we keep losing blizzard staff, more bugs, less support staff for tickets etc. fixing those do not make them more money, putting up mounts in the store does, I mean if you saw the latest podcast that Jeff Kaplan was in, he even states that it’s more like a 50/50 split in terms of developers/HR, where back in the day it was like 95% devs and 5% HR, in conclusion, MOP Classic is not really sustainable cost wise for them to maintain, store mounts are pretty much the most they will do (for now), expect it to get worse even if WOD comes out.
