Still don’t understand the whole paladin thing. They don’t make sense for void elves and they’ve never been a high elf staple.
They’re asking for some lead in to why these races/groups are now playable. Nothing major. Just a short blurb or dialogue to explain it.
Honestly I think the Heritage idea is pretty good. Take whats there recolor or minorly modify. The Dwarf stuff minus the shirt, shoulders and helm can already make a pretty nice setup for a Wildhammer for instance.
Those three peices modified to be more Wildhammer’y and maybe a little recolor would go a long ways.
The mounts and stuff would ultimately just be a recolor of mounts already in game as well with maybe some assets added… like feathers on the side of a Wildhammer Gryphon.
Honestly thats not a huuuge amount outa scope.
One does wonder why go through the trouble to have several recolors of heritage and not use it… MG’s especially I think could benefit by the other hues being released.
High Elves have been paladins forever. There were paladins among the Blood Elves before they lost their faith, theres a few paladin trainers among the Silver Covenant, and keep in mind they were a part of the Alliance of Lordaeron when it founded the Order of the Silver Hand.
Void Paladins could be awesome. >.> They’d obviously have to do something bout the light powers though. lol
EDIT; Also one of Uther the Lightbringer’s former trainee’s is a Blood Elf right now.
I don’t have anything to say about void elf paladins other than personally I think they are a terrible idea.
As for High elf paladins, there’s never been that many. All blood elf paladin were priests when they were “high elves” In game, only one SC paladin trainer and Arator are named and Arator is a half elf who became a paladin because of his human father.
…So no? I don’t see how Paladin is a high elf staple.
To bounce off of what you’re saying there with the Heritage Armor, I think, while it would be a little bit extra effort, a Wildhammer Heritage armor could be done using the Bronzebeard set. Replace the kilt fur texture with feathers, recolor some accenting colors green, and maybe turn the bronze gold… you can probably make a Wildhammer set.
After all, they’re still Dwarves and while the Wildhammer are a bit more… wild, they’re still grounded in the Tolkien Dwarf theme.
I see it in the same vein as Tauren Sun Druids (paladins). I think it could be cool but the light look of the powers would heavily throw that off so they’d have to do something for the void look. I digress.
First, no. They were not all priests. Many were but not all. Every source for Blood Knight that I just looked up mentions this.
We see ample evidence in game that they did, through that SC trainer, Uther’s Former Apprentice, and I suppose if you want to count Arator.
After the fall the Elves lost their faith and thus their connection to those powers. When they got M’uru they had a way to force those powers to serve. Now of course they don’t even need that cause the Sunwell is a font of Holy and Arcane.
High elves are conneced so even if what you said was true, they’d certainly be able to be now.
Let’s get off of high elves though before this becomes one of those threads.
(unless you want to contend my words of course)
I mean honestly that might work. Throw in feathers for the Gryphons maybe a stormhammer slung on the belt?
Honestly that would go a long ways. I will maintain they should have their Stormhammer racial but that’s probably out of Bagzak’s posts scope.
Eh fair enough. I’ll have to look into the blood elf thing. I still don’t think there’s enough evidence to stay they are a staple. Not that it couldn’t become a thing…
But nah, I’m always just curious were the notion comes from. I don’t actually care enough about the point to argue it xD
Just came here from the Forest Troll thread and I say Blizzard needs to apply the ideas of our fella Bagzak and give more focus to the playable races!
They’re one of the major reason we still play this game and not their parody comic book story where we met 300 new characters that are forgotten after we leave zone(even at some cases at the same expansion)
Aye, I agree with you. This stuff can heavily enhance our characters and the full range of what we play.
Indeed and also it give us back some rpg elements alongside a special feature to our characters to stand out from the other races which is the main attraction in a rpg game (Not just creating a new snowflake but discovering about the culture of the race you chose and proud for chosing it rather than pray to not get kicked in the nether regions)
I think I understood that. And I think I agree.
Folk can RP now sure but it would be nice to have the rest of the race like racials, voice lines, heritage, race name, ect.
Really help make you feel in it. Plus some lore to get you started.
