I mean, we’d all get to enjoy the feeling of our characters coming to life if we had action figure kits that let us put the figure together again, like these “gunpla”.
The figure is printed in a mold where you have to take the pieces out of the forms, and following the universal instructions, you can turn runners of pieces and parts into an actual figure!
I mean, the crafting of each figure would fit a different grade.
Basic grade is gnomes, then we go up the tiers based on the height of the race. Master and Perfect Grade for bosses, and maybe apply variations of the character model to different buffs. Like if you want to have a Blood Elf figure that is taller than normal, but is like Master Grade, you can opt for a Giant’s Growth variant.
The figures themselves could be sold with no armor except for Heritage pieces like shoulders, helmets, breastplates, etc. Each figure comes with Heritage armor, with robes being a form of cloth.
Armor sets could be either variant parts you can order online, or you can paint over the existing model.
The perks are that the figures would be completely poseable, so you can put them in any pose you like. The figures can be painted, and you can buy multiples of each figure to resemble the design or mog you like. PLUS you can gift the figures to your loved ones if they too are fantasy nerds.
The only downside would be the price tag based on the quality… I’ve seen Perfect Grade Gundam figure kits going for the hundreds…
Still, I think Blizzard could get a lot of interest in such a project if they say offered you one FREE figure, and it came with a coupon code for half off your next purchase, so you can get a figure for a loved one at half-price.
