Up to 9 now actually. With probably 11 more to go, minimum. 20+ hours of grinding outdated irrelevant content for a playable race unlock is absolutely moronic game design.
Oh btw if you’re hoping to use the skinny KT model, they only have the fat ones available.

You didn’t have to wait like we did when it was current to unlock it. Imagine spending a few hours of questing to unlock a race, what a horrible time!! Playing the game instead of instant gratification!
BFA questing was great imo. The theme of Kul Tiras and Zandalar and the backdrop of a traditional Horde vs Alliance war is right up my alley.
Interest drops off for me with Azshara stuff.
Imagine getting a race with the associated expansion like with BE, Draenei, Worgen, Goblins, Pandaren, and most recently Dractyhr
It’s actually not playing the game, because I have to spend all my play time doing this stupid mind numbing process instead of playing the current expansion like I want.
You’re playing a night elf, one of the original races that was just given to you when the base game. Talk about instant gratification lol.
Because only night elves and belfs can be demon hunters, think about that. If possible I would love to be a void elf DH - of which I worked to unlock during current legion content. You basically don’t wanna play the game, you want instant rewards for 0 effort.
I just came back to WoW in November and between everything else got 4/6 allied races unlocked to date, KT being one of them. Got Pathfinder and 100 exalted reps along the way as well. But then I just quested and didn’t play whack-a-mole for certain quests along the way.
Side note: took me a bit longer to open KT as I wasn’t aware dungeon quests could be skipped and had to coordinate those with my roommate.
I want to play the current game, not spending almost a day of playing 5 year old content.
day 1 of tbcc. A blood elf was made minutes into server start up.
we were legion even. so many be paladins. that npc quest to behead the dude. it had lines like a ride at disney lol. OKay next 5 group up…don’t be shy. Drop him…okay next group up.
Legion AR’s were a time flller as expac faded.
BFA time fillers in the beginning.
they are aren’t needed as time fillers anymore. hell they aren’t even allied races anymore. they are jsut…races. They passed probation and are in the union now.
my hardest was using a lvl 40-50 paladin to unlock the mecha gnomes
had to cheese the boss
BtWQuests addon was a life saver for me.
They should unlock them by default.
Blizzard needs to stop gatekeeping things like races and flying.

The worst part is, with dragonflight they have obviously decided that this is not something they want to continue with, which makes it more infuriating
