same I wanted that too. Im playing SOM because its the closest to a proper fresh and I do enjoying progressing “with the crowd” just not in a super sweaty way so the perma vanilla realms dont do it for me, population issues aside. I have a couple of 70s in TBC right now but I barely log into them anymore. so shrug
I love that zone. It’s right next to my favorite zone, Uldum. I had high hopes for Vol’dun, but it didn’t capture the same feel. They did good work though.
Tanaris, especially the pre-Cata version, is one of my favorites too.
I still vividly remember when I first encountered it. Back in Vanilla, I was standing on the docks at Theramore one day as a level-40-something I wondered where I’d end up if I swam south around the coast, so that’s what I did. Came ashore in Tanaris and its haunting music started playing as I looked out across the dunes and it’s been a favorite ever since.
I’m 38 and started playing WoW when I was 20. Old WoW felt like an adventure. New Wow feels like rolling through a movie. Much like FFXI vs XIV. They just make games for shorter attention spans now.
I love the new models and animations though. The game is beautiful in its own way, IMO.
I seem to remember Deadmines, Scarlet dungeons,Strath,SFK,ZG ect
Man I know the feeling. The night was so dark back then too. The moon and stars over that vast shallow shore was such an experience.
I swam to Tanaris too!
