Curious about ur Monitor?

No no it’s an LCD. I haven’t had a CRT since 2006.

Acer 27" ED27IU X3, 1440p VA panel 240 hz for my main at the moment.
ASUS 24" VS278, 1080p HDMI 60 FPS monitor as my second.

My previous main monitor is going unused at the moment, sitting on the hutch of my desk, and it’s an MSI Optix MAG27CQ(?) 144 hz, 27". It has a problem with running at 120-144 hz, where if it sleeps for any length of time the screen fills up with garbage. It takes forever for it to clear, so a second monitor to set it back to 60 FPS for 5-10 minutes to clear it is pretty much mandatory. I never could figure out a solution otherwise, but it started occurring about 4 months into owning it. No other issues. Runs a little spicy at 144, though.

The colors on the Acer suck, and that’s a pretty common complaint, but it was only $250, and most other 240 hz monitors of its size are $340+ on the cheap side. Also, this Acer monitor exists solely on their official website. I have only found variants elsewhere.

I use this for my main monitor:

And an old ASUS 1080p monitor for my second.

Curved, 34”, 3440x1440, 240hz, QOLED, very satisfied. Vivid colors and the blacks are so black, makes space games much nicer.

27 inch 144 hz curve Samsung monitor. Great monitor honestly. Very satisfied. That’s also just the main one. The secondary one is the same exact stats, except a bit smaller at 24 inches.

Thought about upgrading at some point thought to a bigger monitor.

I guess you ran out of money after the first one :stuck_out_tongue:

Currently have a 29" LG Ultrawide on my primary PC and a 23" on my secondary PC. I share a mouse and keyboard between the two for now.

I use a TV.

Are tv’s good for an alternative gaming monitor? I didn’t think you could use them for those.

I have 2 spectre 27" curved 2k monitors.

They go for about $180 a piece and come with a display port cable, about the best deal on a budget monitot right now

It depends on the TV. Some higher end TVs (like mine) are native 120Hz, which is perfectly fine for a lot of gaming. There are a couple new ones coming out this year that are native 144Hz. These refresh rates would only be for TVs being used for PCs since no console supports 144Hz.

My OLED TV has very low input lag, .2ms response time… gaming looks fantastic.

I been using TVs as PC gaming monitors for well over a decade now. They are much cheaper than a dedicated gaming monitor and you can get them in bigger sizes. That said I can’t say how much of a difference they are over a dedicated gaming monitor would be. I usually don’t notice the latency or refresh rates.

Interesting. I used to sell those, but it was years ago, so I don’t remember the series numbers, etc. How much was it, and how long ago?

34" ultra wide OLED.
Also have the in-game color settings tweaked to 80% contrast 65% brightness 0.9 Gamma. Makes it easier to see in-game mechanics.

I prefer smaller monitor. I think mine is 23 inches. I’m playing in 1440, 144 frames. Dell something or rather. Its pretty nice. I can’t stand the curved monitors.

I use an Acer Nitro 27" 1440p 144hz IPS for my gaming monitor. And a Dell 27 inch 1080p 75hz IPS for my second display.

Not really. The issue with TV’s is the performance involving what’s known as input and latency.

Ever play Overwatch and think you nailed a headshot? Like, we’re talking dead on because the target’s right in your crosshairs and you pull the trigger, but you do no damage? Often people will equate this to something known as a no-reg, but if you have low hz on your monitor, it could also be that his head was simply not there anymore despite looking like it was.

TV’s have terrible hz. Gaming monitors like the samsung’s I mentioned above are much better for it because they’re specifically made with the technology to perform in those situations.

My understanding is that curved monitors were a bit of a fad and are on the way out?

Are they? O_O I had no idea. Although I bought these monitors are long time ago. I’ll look into it some and do some reading before purchasing another one.

I admit. >_> Part of me really wanted to grab that Xeneon Flex from Corsair but 2000 dollars for a monitor is just too much.

I suspect it has to do with the size. E.g. there’s zero point to getting a 27inch curved monitor. But possibly a 32inch curved?
