I’m the hidden source and I just typed a random number for the fun of it.
WoW has 4,352,492.38 active subs. At least 30,670 of them have sriracha sauce.

Look, man I know it hard to believe but blizzard cut the server size a couple resets ago to help public perception and protect their bottom line. It also saved them tons of cash. A “full” server is about equivalent to a medium server in 2004 right now.
I’ve got all of this on rock solid sources
If that’s true, they are bleeding then
Full realms were never cross realm merged, explain your theory again
3mil at best, but no higher than that. Blizzard used to boast about their active sub count before WoD catastrophe and then they went silent afterwards. BFA and SL are steadily trying to hold what they got left. It’s not high, but it’s not suffering as well. However if they continue to do the same tactics in the next expansion then they will be in hundred thousands. Dedicated players are tired of the same patterns.
This is false. If you truly didn’t care, you wouldn’t have taken time to post about it.
Blizzard reported them for investors. lol
And it’s best they didn’t because all it does is create gloom and doom on the forums whenever the quarterly reports come out
They can come out and say “oh yeah this game has 30 million subs!” And it’d still cause the “wow is dying” tinfoil hat theories
Yes and no, they was about bragging rights too
If it was bragging rights they’d stop reporting after wotlk decline
shoo fly shoo
You’re not understanding what I am writing. Servers that say full right now have VERY small populations.
I’ve got it on internal authority blizzard is even running bots themselves to make the game seem more popular.
I can’t give names but my source works there and they told me the development team has been at war with itself since WoD. The actual devs who love the game want a more immersive game but the Activision cronies keep forcing “engagement metric content” like world quests, Azeroth power, Mission tables, weekly Torghast runs etc.
The ship is sinking fast and Activision agents are purging those who are opposed and the top guys are getting rewarded handsomely in the form of bonuses.
Activision really wants to design the game in a way that forces you to log in every day or most days of the week. For Shadowlands they actually a managed to fight them off a bit and gave us a great game focused on the fundamentals but their development was slowed down due to the cuts, COVID, and Activision being pissed they didn’t make anima mandatory and tired to character power.
So besides the inaccurate numbers (as the accurate ones are not released) and the speculation that subs are low. The real question is who cares that visits this forum and what does it matter ?
As the total number of subs rarely affects most players … what is the point of this thread ?
This really wouldn’t surprise me to be honest.
So what’re the subs for Classic?
cite that source.
Profits say otherwise
He just throwing stuff out there, but if I was a betting undead, it would be more then retail right now lol
Last my buddy updated me he said classic was actually sitting at about 5m
Oooh, hidden sources, how useful.
