Cult of the Black Scales [OOC]

Flaws in a character make them more interesting. I do hope you also include a rule against God moding. You control your own character, NO ONE ELSE'S!!

Well I would hope by now that would be a given. Seeing as it is one of the core rules on any forum RP I have even been involved in. I would not think it would have to be stated time and time again but like with any rules, clarification never hurts.

You can enter Draco as Draco, as long as you sign him up as a character and not a tag along mount. My issue is when mounts are suddenly getting played as characters; which is okay in some circumstances. I just want to be aware of each potential character in the thread. It gets confusing when suddenly everyone's mount is also fighting like a player character.

Then I very well may just do that. He is slowly developing into his own character on here even if in-game he is simply Bowen's mount of choice. So depending on what happened with the Vault and how this one ties in with the ending of that one, I may very well split the pair for a time. If the rule is only 1 character that is. Otherwise the pair of Bowen and Draco would come full swing.

EDIT: also being in a topic with both Mortre and her arch lich nemesis is more than a little appealing. Since I've wanted to see these two interact in a more RP manner to the ooc banter I am always seeing ever since I started scouting the WET forum.

Well it's not like Mortre' is special or anything. Most people my warlock meets winds up hating him because he acts like a self imposing jerkface in-under about 4seconds of the first meeting.

And I can totally wait to inevitably destroy you mort! Infact he's already got an excuse for joining. They just go back so far that he rushed to the help of his long long dear friend the moment he heard of poor Mortre's fate.

Pfft, nothing special eh? Just you wait.

Of course Kersia might consider dropping the entire rescue mission if it meant chaining you up in her lab to study and do research on, as well as a little harmless experimentation.
I hereby volunteer as Tribute...as a Bronze who keeps losing his hourglass.
I have a green dragon looking for adventure.

I think ye give yerself too much credit there lad. It would take less if I offered up my Shaman to the RP. Being Both alliance and anti-Warlock to the point of Zealotry he'd just have to see your mug and hate you. Question though, does Mortre's cohorts know about the connection between you two?

Huh... that may have answered my question there. If this is any inkling I may not get to see this interaction after all. As it sounds like unless Kersia uses your relenting pursuit of Mortre to our advantage before strapping you to a table and doing all kinds of naughty things to you. You may not get that interaction yourself. Let along me getting to see it.
Not sure who I'll bring yet but when the sign ups go up I'll definitely take interest
Mortre probably spoke on one occasion or another to Kersia about her interaction with the lich that got past her mental defense. Probably asked her to check that status of her mental enchantments and reinforce them. Of course, Kersia would be intrigued to see why this lich was so interested in Mortre, and probably allow his aide, if for nothing more than to observe him and mentally document how he interacts with the world.

Petty revenge.

I'm just waiting for this to go up, tis ages since I've done a good rp.
Well, if you want something to do while you wait, you can look up the songs that inspired the story :D Sacrimony and Revolution by Kamelot. Maybe a little Prodigal Son as well.

Just don't want to juggle three threads and this kinda takes place after Vault of the Dead, which is climaxing to an end at the moment, so I figured I would wait until it was done before starting this. I honestly didn't think I would attract so much XD Half expected just to write it as a character story fan fiction style lol
You could still do that too if ye like Mortre. Be kind of cool to see an actual story write up of a completed RP. See how one interprets our characters and helps with streamlining the story when there is only one writer. Though instead of having random NPCs for your character story, you have player's being the supporting cast.
No that isn't what I meant. I would have written it with my own characters alone. I don't like to dabble much into other people's characters lol
I don't reaaly mind. I just keep track of what happens and add it to her history that's half in my head and half on notepad app. That's how I keep it straight.
I know what you meant lass. I was just saying that it would be cool to see a more streamlined version of an RP once it is finished. You wouldn't really be writing for other people's characters so much as scribing what is already written. Since they will have already posted what their characters do in regards to the situation. As a Personal story of Mortre you'd just view it as narrated from her perspective. That is, if she is the one telling the story and not one of your other characters.

I find that type of story telling odd, when a character who is narrating seems to know stuff about events they were not part of but lead up to events they were a part of. Still I guess one factor's it up to being told the events from one's perspective and then placing their own on it. A good example of this is the Merlin movie starting Sam Neil. A the end

[SPOILER WARING!!!]

it is revealed that he as his older self was telling the story to a group of children and other towns folk for money, Yet throughout the movie even before he meets up with Nimue again at the end, he knows, or tells, of events, aka scenes his character was not in. It is also suggested by the character Frick that what he told was not how he remembered it. to which Merlin replies, "I don't think they'd believe me if I told them how it really was."

[END SPOILER]

Me personally I love seeing how other people interpret my characters based on the information I have given within my own writing of them. Is it accurate? Truthful to what I envisioned? Perhaps, but perhaps they see something in the character I originally did not. Something I could build off of to make an even more compelling character and improve my own writing. If they stem way too far from what I envisioned, then maybe my writing could be a bit more clear on the direction I want the character to go.,, See how that works?

Anyway it is not a path for everyone but it was just an interesting thought I had. If you do decide you wanted to try, then I'd put a disclaimer at the top letting the RPers know that whatever they post could be transcribed into an actual story for your character(s). This way they can say if they want it to also be apart of their character's or if name changes could be in order. In the case of Bowen and Draconyxion, They need your Blue's knowledge to help the later to further protect his mind from the old gods. Therefore a mutual connection could be formed. However Mr./Mrs. random mage may only want to RP because it sounds like a cool story but does not have any effect on their character's personal story. Therefore they become a nameless Mage hero. "They were a great asset to the cause but I cannot seem to remember their name." This way both RPs are left intact without one overpowering the other if they don't want it to.
I may, it depends on how motivated I am. It would probably be through Vynianyx, not Mortre however. Vynianyx keeps a journal where she chronicles her adventures. You don't see it much anymore, but she pulls it out usually during down time in a thread. Often I use it as a jumping point in a tavern thread.

Since Vynianyx, Sylstyx, and Kersia (With Kersia taking lead) as my main trio, Vyn will just have to fill in the details of Mortre's confinement when they regroup :P
Vault of the Dead is revving up and will probably end soon (tm), so I figured I might as well start the sign up process. Ready set go? Depending on what nots, I'll take 10-15 characters. Due to the individual interest, thread is only one character per person. If less is brought in or people drop (this thread will probably be long. I have been pining for a thread with semi realistic travel times and breaks at inns and camps.

Name: (All names)

Age: (Visual age, actual age)

Race: (Race at birth, race as appearance)

Appearance: (All forms, keep sizes reasonable)

Armor/Weapons:

Experience in combat: (Are you a caster? Weapon user? Veteran? Newbie? Intermediate? If you are a dragon, how much combat experience do you have as one? Do you rely on physical or magical or breath attacks, or a mix?)

Ground Mount: (Flying mounts will be prohibited, for reasons that will be explained by
Kersia)

Background: (I don't care about length but try to keep your sign up within 2-3 posts please.)

I assume the why you are here will be fully established in the introduction post you do, but give me a brief reason. Doesn't have to be spectacular. One sentence, onne word, but something.

Posting interest did not garuntee a slot, but I tried to accommodate in my max number of characters allowed so that there was a little more than enough for all interested parties.
Finally got a character sheet written out--tried to keep it concise. Was pretty tired when I wrote this up, so I'm hoping it's fairly coherent. If I need to fix it later I will.

-------------------------------------------------

Name: Morician Blackborne

Age: Early 30s; was around 25 at time of death.

Race: Human

Appearance: Six feet tall and built like an ox. Four long claw marks mar the left side of his face, running parallel from the forehead down to the jawline. His appearance is generally a bit weathered, with shaggy dark blond hair and equipment bearing the telltale scuff marks of frequent use.

Group shot(to give a small idea of how he might appear in a crowd):

Armor/Weapons: Same as what appears in the armory. Two things worthy of note, that aren't pictured: his helmet is the standard one you see for Ebon Blade NPCs (Greathelm of the Scourge Champion) and he has a large hunting knife sheathed at the back of his belt.

Experience in Combat: Veteran blood deathknight. Preferred combat style is keeping the enemy focused on him and utilizing runic power for damage mitigation and crowd control. For offensive abilities, he tends to fight more like a warrior--using brute force rather than magic to overpower the opposition. Also good with mounted combat, though I'm not sure that will apply here.

Ground Mount: His deathcharger, Steel--a large, heavily armored draft horse(assuming he brings a mount--he might leave his horse at home).

Background:

Assuming this is where to state his reason for being present. I daresay his sister Retta found Kersia's notice on the billboard in Stormwind and either goaded him into taking the job, or he accepted the offer to prevent her from getting into trouble. Given his questionable literacy, having someone to read the notice to him doesn't hurt either.
Reserved
Name: Darthanion Duskhaven (Dart, Fumblefingers, Muddlemind, Timeblind)

Age: Young adult, 4578

Race: Bronze dragon, Sindorei

Appearance: (All forms, keep sizes reasonable) As a Bronze dragon, Dart is very gangly and uneven in his growth, still young by dragon standards. At times he is merely a whelp, or a full size dragon, depends on if he has found his always disappearing hourglass. As a Sindorei he is a slender but muscular young adult with bronze hair and deep emerald eyes. His hands sometimes display claws. He walks with pride as any Sindorei and has the racial equivalent to magic, with a lot of subtle magic usually attributed to mages.

He classifies himself as a scout, or rogue in the common vernacular. He can disappear at the drop of a hat, and it is not always by his own volition. (His mentor watches him and often uses that as a disciplinary action)

Personality is confident but reserved. He is very shy around females, of any race. Terrified of some and enamored of others, he has no clue how to court a lady. He tries to be courteous and respectful to everyone. There is a part of him that is mischeivous and sneaky. But his jokes are never intended to harm anyone.

Armor/Weapons: Basic leather armor that is reinforced with dragonscale. He carries throwing shuriken, daggers at his hips and a short sword across his back. His preferred weapons are daggers. Dual weilding to cause a maximum of damage. His weapons are coated in lethal poison, or mind numbing poison against magic users.

Experience in combat: (Are you a caster? Weapon user? Veteran? Newbie? Intermediate? If you are a dragon, how much combat experience do you have as one? Do you rely on physical or
magical or breath attack) As a dragon, Dart uses his sand blaster breath to scour his enemies. It has an additional effect of confusing his enemies. His formidable claws can shred even dragonscale. But his ability to freeze time and move behind an opponenet is his most deadly combat move. This ability is also used in his Sindorei form.

He is not one to actively seek combat, but he will not shirk the responsibility if he knows someone he loves is threatened. He has countless years of experience as a Sindorei rogue fighting with the Farstriders in many encounters.

Ground Mount: (Flying mounts will be prohibited, for reasons that will be explained by
Kersia) Darth likes his bike! He can even carry a passenger. It tends to be noisy, but it gets him where he wants to go in style.

Background: Dart has witnessed many years of Sindorei history. Though he was not always there when they were at their darkest hours. His training as a Time Warden is on going, and he has much to learn. His mentor calls him all kinds of names, according to what the latest goof up that Dart has engineered through one of his crazy ideas. One of his common goofs is losing his hourglass. He needs it to shift time, and is always losing it. Thankfully he has a companion, a young brown whelp who is often sent to search out the missing hourglass for him.

If the hourglass is not hooked to his belt, he is in deep trouble. He sets it down to fight and often forgets where he put it. He is afraid it will get broken. It is small, only five inches long and three inches wide. Easy to misplace.
Name: Torinikus Torin

Age: (Visual age, actual age) Very Old.

Race: (Race at birth, race as appearance) Emerald Dragon, Night Elf. His hair is a deep green that is woven into a braid that runs half way down his back.

Appearance: (All forms, keep sizes reasonable) average size for a night elf. He forms a large Green Dragon.

Armor/Weapons: Wears leather armor on his chest and legs. He has a blindfold over his eyes in his elf form.

Experience in combat: (Are you a caster? Weapon user? Veteran? Newbie? Intermediate? If you are a dragon, how much combat experience do you have as one? Do you rely on physical or
magical or breath attack) A front line fighter in the major conflicts of the world. Torinikus wields a green bladed katana in his night elf form. He has fought against the forces of the old gods and the destroyer. He battled the forces of the fire lands and defended wyrmrest temple against the twisted black Dragonflight.

Ground Mount: He can summon a deer made of vines and branches from the Emerald dream for his mount.

Background: (will add in later) Torinikus has long been residing in the Emerald dream. He was nearly consumed by the nightmare which claimed the life of his mate who sacrificed herself to save him. The nightmare darkened his green scales and made his breath attack even more poisonous. He vowed to fight the corruption of the nightmare as much as he could. When Furion fought back the nightmare he returned to the waking world if Azeroth to aid in the defense of mount Hyjal. Later when Deathwing threatened the world with the hour of twilight he stood fast in the defense of Wyrmrest Temple.
