Hah typing on a keyboard, so typos should not exist. We shall see lol
Anywhooooo, we got an offer on our house today. 5k ABOVE asking. Ex wants to see if we can hold out for more for a couple of days. Well, wanted. I talked to our realtor and she told me how it works. Basically the phone call goes are there any offers and have you set a deadline.
We did set a deadline for tomorrow at noon, so now she can say if asked there is one offer and a deadline has been set. This creates a sense of urgency. Our realtor also told me she was expecting another offer, a cash offer to come in beforehand. And that there were 2 more very interested but did not have permission to to make offer as of yet.
Sooooo, hopefully tomorrow our house will be under contract. Just need to wait and see.

Grats! Cash offers definitely make it go easier.
Ya still twitch a little when you do the wire transfer though. We did ours earlier today, the twitching has mostly stopped, lol.

I have been binge watching Yellowstone on Peacock
Almost done. Great show.
So, small oversight on my part. A couple weeks after I booked my trip (back in March), my outbound flight was canceled. When I rebooked the flight, I didn’t take into account the new arrival time, so I never adjusted the rental car reservation. It’s looking like I might have to sit in the airport for 90 minutes because the rental agency insists that I can’t pick up the car any earlier than an hour before the time indicated in my reservation.
In other news, The Daughter’s picking me up at 3am to take me to the airport. I feel like I should maybe take a nap.

That sounds like me when I did the study abroad in Switzerland. Getting there was no issue, the airport in Zurich is also a train station (so we took train to where we were studying).
The problems arose when we were returning home. We all had an overnight stay before our flight out the next day. Silly me didn’t realize that I needed to arrange for my hotel to pick me up at airport. So I had to arrange for luggage storage at the airport and then figure out how to get to the hotel. That involved 3 different trains and walking to the hotel in the rain.
Needless to say, I will be making sure to always have a ride to the hotel.
Thundertotem here, switched toons again as I am playing this guy quite a bit. Got lucky on the name too.

I am sooo bad at PvPing right now. I actually don’t know where to start, should I do skirmish arenas or random BGs?

“Your so early, sir. Security checkpoints don’t open for another half hour.”
Edit - 199 seats on the plane, 221 tickets sold. Somebody’s morning is gonna go downhill here in a few minutes when we start boarding.

Well looksy here… I showed my missus the instructions for my telescope in the case, a torn up two sheet of practically nothing. Then I discovered a rather nifty website for astronomy geeks. Spent a bit of time… well, looksy here… a 62 page instruction manual with a 16 page appendix for my 35+ yr old telescope. Reading through… I didn’t know that… or that… what is that!?
Then for the real test. Plug it in and watch it. You can’t see it or hear it. The drive takes 24 hours to complete a full rotation. With the scope on and power going… two hours later it’s turned a whole 30 degrees!!! Success?
Spent a couple of hours after that test getting the whole thing set up… because you can’t properly run the drive without the 40# equatorial wedge. And the wedge needs to be placed on the tripod. You need to set the declination (easy for here, about a mile from 45 degrees north). And these wires need to goes here and those there.
Eyeballing the polar alignment, plugging in and pointing the scope at Jupiter… Aik haz a functioning 10" SCT!!! Woot!!! With minor adjustments, the tracking worked! The pictures are still poor quality (downtown, heat island effects, wind gusts, interstate spaghetti junction just behind the convention center with full lighting for safety, etc.) but Aik is a happy camper!!! The 8" can be put on the back burner for now. But I think I can splurge on filters.
So that was my morning so far. Might try to get a bit of sleep since I’ve been up for hours. Sorry to bore you with my telescopic escapades.
Teuf… It’ll get better for you once you get there and you see everyone. Enjoy your visit.
TGIF everyone! Enjoy your day!

A very short walk for the doggo and I this morning. A ton of wind and lightning in the “near distance,” so just enough to get the circulation going and Onyx to do her thing.
When we left the apartment, it was pretty warm and muggy. By the time we got home (about ten to fifteen minutes later), it was noticeably cooler. So I have a window open for a little while, until it starts warming up again.
And of course, we barely got any rain. But just north of us has been getting soaked all night.
And a big day in history - in 1972, five people were arrested for the Watergate break-in. And in 1994, Americans was glued to their TVs watching OJ Simpson flee from police.

I know why they call it Hotlanta. I’m not convinced the AC is on in this concourse.
Finally watched Ghostbusters: Afterlife on the flight down from the Cities, looking out the window so nobody could see me getting weepy during the final act.
Also, Delta seems to subscribe to the ‘it’s 5 o’clock somewhere’ philosophy. I had a Screwdriver for breakfast just after takeoff.

It’s Friday, and I just finished my cuppa. At least the cat let me sleep in this morning. Time to read up and review for my board exams. sigh

The oppressive humidity finally left. It’s 82, dry and windy. It’s also mostly fuzzy. The cottonwoods are poofing and it looks like it’s snowing. I don’t even know what a cottonwood looks like but there must be a ton of them around.
