I used to live in the Alaska Territory.
Alaska was finally admitted when there was a compromise whereby Hawaii would be admitted at the same time. The situation is the same, whatever political party thinks the other party would gain in the Senate will oppose statehood unless or until there is some other candidate to balance it.

There are other reasons of course, nothing is ever that strait forward, but that alone would prevent it currently. :man_shrugging:

ALASKA was a Russian colony from 1744 until the USA bought it in 1867 for $7,200,000. It was made a state on January 3, 1959.

Hawaii was a kingdom until 1893 and became a republic in 1894. In March 1959 , the U.S. government approved statehood for Hawaii, and in June the Hawaiian people voted by a wide majority to accept admittance into the United States. Two months later on August 21, 1959, Hawaii officially became the 50th state.

Russian settlements in North America originally ran down the west coast from Alaska all the way well into what is now California. When the bottom dropped out of the fur market they gave up their possessions south of Juno. Still a lot of Russian Orthodox Christians in Alaska.

I went back to Alaska in 2017, my mother and older brother had each been back so I was expecting the big changes the years had brought, but I was surprised by how few of the current residents were Alaska born.

It holds up well. Scariest movies are the plausible ones… Too many disaster films are world ending. Nah, we need more like Twister and Backdraft… Big suspense!

I don’t know about that. The missus and I have signed up for 6 months. We’ve three expansions to catch up on. And boy oh boy, there’s a lot to relearn after 6 years. (Any suggestions or recommendations?)

So… fracas will be the new normal for a while :stuck_out_tongue_winking_eye:

First thing I would recommend is to find a good guild on a rather high populated realm (Depending on your system and connection of course) then you should have plenty of players around to group with on those hard quests and run dungeons & raids with. Mainly though be patient and have “FUN” and don’t let the toxic trolls get to ya.

Thanks Dum. We still have our guilds on both sides. Now what to do with 6 year old mats, lol. Our server seems comfortably busy (Khaz Modan) so just need to learn about the inhabitants.

Well, I did make a mechno-hog so we can travel together in the new zones. Guess it will be quite a while before flight in the new lands. Pathfinder… can’t help to chuckle at that.

As for trolls, I know just how to handle them. They aren’t worth the time (unless I need a good laugh)

It would be cool if you could obtain a “Vial of the sands” that transforms you into a “sandstone drake” and then your wife could ride on your back (Or vice-versa) while flying around together.

I tried to get my wife into the game but she’s just not interested. :cry:

You do Pandaren archaeology on your alchemist and buy the Tol’vir boxes until you get it. Once you get up there in character level, the Legion archaeology is good because the sites are all in one zone for two weeks at a time while each archaeology quest is up.

I used to be a AH player for a long time and had so much gold, I bought my “Vial Of the Sands” years ago.
Now I use what gold I have to pay for game time by buying tokens, I haven’t had to pay for a sub in almost 2 years now (Paid up until June 12th) and still make enough to pay for a couple more months right now.

We watch Twister every spring. It’s a tradition :tornado:.I want that big steak dinner they have :cut_of_meat:. We also watch Independence Day every 4th of July. :fireworks:
