Oh they will just as soon as my boss gets here and I unload.
I am a master of unloading without directing it at any one in particular. The message will be delivered and they will know where I stand.
And they will know that A) if action is not taken against the individual from yesterday I will shop my services and B) if I do t get help the same will happen. They can’t afford for that scenario to unfold.
Ok crisis averted. I think my boss was more upset than I was at the news. Called the department head with me in the office.
The issue was a direct reflection on myself and him. Well not direct, however it could have been. At least a did you know and why didn’t you know kind of thing. Easily explained away on my end. Not so easily on his enfld though. However, now somebody is going to have a not so pleasant day tomorrow, and it is not me.
And it could have possibly been me. Because the department head was already aware of the situation lol.
I’ve got some good news! I’m free of any of the dangerous diseases, which is great! However, they still don’t know why I have so many issues with my kidneys.
Between migraines, kidney stones, fatigue, sleep apnea, and random kidney infections, it’s a wonder I make it through the day. According to my doctor, if they really want to know what’s causing all of this in me, I’d have to go through a LOT of testing. Testing that’s expensive and not all of it covered by insurance. I got lucky the insurance covered two CT scans a few days apart.
I’ve got another appointment tomorrow with a specialist, so we’ll see how it goes.
My husband bought me a fancy clipboard made from wood at a craft fair. I stick a New York times crossword puzzle on it and take it to the Dr’s office. It keeps me busy while waiting, and holds the papers I get.
I remember you work in food service. A story for you. My Mom was in a nursing home. Her first day there, the cook? came up and introduced himself. He said he likes to meet the new guests and see what they like. They chatted and found out that he graduated from the same food service program that my mom did.
After that, they chatted about food, and the old school. When she passed, he sent us a letter saying he would miss all the “advice” she gave him. That meant a lot to us and showed how much character the man had. You sound a lot like him.
Aww thanks. That made me smile. I LOVE my residents. It pains me when they pass. When the short term ones leave I tell them I mean this in the best way possible but I hope I never see you again.
I love cooking for these guys. Nothing makes me happier than when they are mad at me. Why? Cuz I was off. Or they ate too much and their stomach hurts.
More than once they have approached my boss and the admi istrator in an effort to get my hours changed, so I am here more often. If they had their way, I would work 7 doubles a week, not 2. Truth be told, my department head would be fine with that as well haha.
Thank you again for those kind words. It has been a long hard day and that was a nice pick me up.
Thank (who or whatever you thank) I’ve never had kidney stones. I’m not a fan of pain.
My oldest daughter had those, I don’t want them. I think I’ve done the rest you listed; you do adapt but it would be better not to have to.
I’m not permitted the political argument in this venue, but suffice it to say that the insurance companies, due to well-funded lobbying, can be, and are, totally legal scams.
All attempts to fix this have been attacked by successful “repeal and replace” strawman arguments long on repeal light on replace.
Understandable! I’ve got good insurance, but sometimes they want a prior authorization that takes up to 48 hours to approve. Sometimes I can’t wait that long!
I’m slowly recovering from the last bout of kidney stones (two within a month). I need to start drinking more water. My doctor suggested lemonade, which I’m okay with! I love lemonade! They sent the last one off to be tested.
I think I lost my kitty Shadow. He came in really injured and bleeding, I was trying to find a Cat Carrier to take him to the vet, but he got out and disappeared. Haven’t seen him for 24 hours.
He was pretty weak when he came in. He ate his fill of soft catfood and laid down for a while. I hope he survives, but the outlook is not promising, he’s a little feral and an outdoor cat.
As someone who worked at a hospital during that time. I need to pump the brakes a bit.
It wasn’t going to help in regards to insurance, either way it went. The insurance companies will leave completely if backed into a corner. Taking the money with them. Medicaid was the same, except that they couldn’t hide and that their denials were only really sent to the hospitals and doctors.
Hence why docs were turning patients away.
