Just noticed the Classic world map doesn’t indicate appropriate level ranges for the various zones like it did back in the day. Trying to decide whether to go to Ashenvale or Thousand Needles. Kinda bummin’ around the Barrens and Stonetalon at the moment.

It still trips me that I can order food from several restaurants on my phone. In less than 12 taps.
Ordering pizza online was only just starting when I graduated high school.

…and now my food is already on it’s way.

I don’t recall them doing that in pre-BC

I swear I remember the continental maps displaying which faction controlled a zone (or if it was contested) and an appropriate level range when you moused over that zone.

Hey Tomten is older than me!

It was about 15 years ago that I showed my dad that he could pay at the pump. I would show him the wonders that are possible with a smart phone, but he won’t get one. He’s still using a flip phone my mom bought in the late 90s.

My grandmother just turned 80 and she uses a tablet and smart phone. Though she prefers the tablet because of her eye sight.

Dad’s had a Kindle Fire for years, and bought a cheap tablet a couple years ago. I wish I had tried to talk him into buying something less useless, or at least lived close enough to come over and show him what it could do and how to get the most out of it.

i’m still trying to get used to not being able to minimize the world map in Classic, like i’m used to in Standard. xP

i prefer the older character models, though some of the newer ones are pretty decent. i’m just now finding out, that mobs in Elwynn Forest don’t just scale up to lvl 20, they scale UP to lvl 60…

i take 6 months off, and this is what happens to Azeroth? mein gott! <.< xP

Personally I prefer Thousand Needles because it doesn’t have an Alliance town dead-center making me run around extra or fly past. My level 31 warrior only did a few quests in Ashenvale and bailed. I might have my 23 warlock spend more time up there just for the variety.

Another bonus with Thousand Needles is if you’re a miner or a skinner. Ore deposits cover the gamut of copper, tin, silver, and iron, even one gold I picked up on the edge of Shimmering Flats today. Hyena, cougars, and thunderhawks in the Thousand Needles end and turtles, scorpions, and crocolisks in the Shimmering Flats as you pass 30.

Ack! Hoping for the best for her.

Glad to hear he is doing better. Hopefully he recovers quickly from the infection.

Hope your day gets better.

Wishing the best for your grandmother. Hope it isn’t anything too serious.

We are celebrating hubby’s 53rd birthday tonight. We are gonna cook mahi mahi, shrimp, rice pilaf, & sauteed corn. I blanch ears of corn and then remove the kernels and saute them in butter, red pepper, onions, & seasonings.

Wait a few weeks if you aren’t in a rush. They can be sold on the AH. The price should be more reasonable by then.

Still trying to figure out my dad. He doesn’t always use the self checkout because he “hasn’t figured out how to do produce.” Since I recently mentioned my age, you might think, well, her Dad is probably in his 70s, being a bit tech-averse isn’t that odd. Except my Dad is an EMT. He had an iPhone before I had a smartphone. He has smart home devices. It’s like, Dad, if you can start IVs and give correct drug dosages, I feel certain you can figure out how to do produce on the self checkout.

Same to all of those. Hope everyone gets better or at least has a better day tomorrow.
Edit: because sometimes it just isn’t good and hoping for better tomorrow is the best you can do.

You’re the second person to tell me that. My sleep therapist was the same. Seems weird to think it.

I remember that, but I only started playing in Wrath, which still had a lot more of the vanilla experience than we have today, but also had a lot of quality of life improvements. Maybe that was one. But I am pretty sure it existed pre-Cata, at least. (I feel like Wrath was close to having the best balance between stuff people liked about vanilla and stuff people liked that got added later without going too far into stuff people don’t like about retail. But I also know I’m hopelessly biased because Wrath was my first.)

eh, i’m the same way honestly. Wrath was where i got my start, and honestly, it’s the one i remember most.

the changes in BfA are…taking some getting used to. the UI interface, the fact that starter zones scale up to 60 now, (REALLY threw me for a loop, when i was fighting boars for the cooking daily in Org on my Orc DK, i was like “Wait, why is this boar around my lvl? i thought mobs in starter zones only scaled up to 20? o.O”)

the character models though…yeah, i’m not really a fan of some of them. there’s a few i don’t mind…but then there’s others that make me cringe. (no offense meant), the sound effects are a tad different…so i may feel compelled to kick up Spotify and listen to either Jesse Cox and Crendor’s podcast, or listen to some Fozzy tunes while i quest.
