[CS Lounge] It's dangerous to go alone, take this!

There are no emissaries for Rustbolt Resistance. If you do the two World Quests, all the dailies, and catch all the secret fish, you should get around the total of an emissary. It can be done daily.

Check the group finder. Even with so many people working on doing Visions there is usually a group or two or more doing Mechagon rares, etc.

We cut the cable almost 8 years ago now! Haven’t missed it since and love the monthly savings too

We current use a decent digital antenna (and here that means we get like 4 channels), along with Netflix, Disney+ and we get Prime through Amazon, though we rarely use it.

That’s about it! Honestly, as I’m not much of a “sports fan”, it’s been awesome  Most people I try to convince to cut the cable say that they can’t live without {fill in sports name here}…and the irony of that right now is sorta funny.

Yeah I just did the math. Called the internet company to finagle a loyalty deal, got a better price, we will wind up saving about $60 a month, and pretty much getting the channels we want. A lot of hopping around different apps to watch things, like CBS, etc, but hey. Now I have Picard I can watch right? And we will have Disney Plus as well. So hey, there is that.

Now to figure out who melted the outer coating on my headphones wire.

When we cut the cable, we ditched our home phone too. Together we were saving like $110 a month, we’ve saved about $10k!!

Not to mention that when we cut the cable we moved to a different internet provider. In the past 2 years, they’ve fought to lower our internet prices and on two separate occasions, they’ve lowered our internet bill.

i got rid of cable about 5 years ago. haven’t looked back since. don’t have any streaming service as most shows i typically watch (to my knowledge) can’t be streamed in Canada.

Deadliest Catch…Gold Rush…i’ve already got the complete series of Duck Dynasty on dvd so i’m good there. i don’t think any streaming service in Canada streams Mythbusters, and that’s another show i’d love to watch.

my ISP doesn’t apparently offer streaming services for discovery which is unfortunate, but what can ya do? .-.

Dr gave me an anti depressant today. Number one side effect by far, it knocks you out. It is non addictive and you can quit it cold turkey. He said with the sudden onset on insomnia it sounds like there is some underlying depression, even if I don’t know it somewhere causing it, and hopefully this will help me turn my brain off at night, at the subconscious level. So hopefully I actually sleep tonight. We shall see, we shall see. I really really hope so. I desperately need it. If not tonight or tomorrow, I will contact him and tell him it is not working for the lack of sleep and I need something specifically for sleep.

Damn roofers…

Spent the entire day dealing with the noise of the roofers, then find out they cut the power lines to the AC in all four units. The landlords was not very happy.

Hope it was not a hot day today TT, cuz I would have hurt em haha

I was definitely warm today. Dad was pissed, he knew what happened when his AC wouldn’t turn on. Plus they was kind of jerks, they wait til you was right under them and they would use the nailguns, laughing when you jump.

Wow, 8 years? I cut the cord, going on 3 years now I think. I picked up an HD antenna, so I still get all my local public channels. I bought a TIVO with unlimited service for the guide. I already had Prime, Hulu, and Netflix, so that wasn’t any additional for me. I recently picked up Disney+ (free with my phone package for a year), and HBO (because His Dark Materials).

I do miss Foodnetwork and BBC America (Haven’t seen the last 2 seasons of Doctor Who yet).

Overall, it’s saved a lot and I have tons to watch so with few exceptions, I’m usually good.

I have a new toy.

We have a lot of old photographs my wife wanted digitized.
I started scanning but ran into some old negatives from a Kodak Disc camera.
Those things are tiny, smaller than 110 film, my scanner just didn’t have the resolution needed to do them.

So I’m now the owner of an Epson V800.
The disc negs are done and I’m three roles into the 35mm.

I’ve been burning through a bunch of the newer Netflix series, usually while I’m doing dailies, etc…

We tried Sling and hated it. Horrible service with constant issues. We have since turned off Netflix & Prime as well (to save $$$). Now we just have Hulu (with live TV) & Disney+.

I have yet to try Hulu or Netflix. Never needed them or felt the desire. I’ve only done one month of Disney+ to watch all of Mandalorian.

Most of my “watching” is YouTube. I have a Premium sub for that.
Right now I have it open with the Hot Ones episode with Gordon Ramsey.

Prime, Netflix, Hulu, Disney+, and I still haven’t cut the cord.
I have eliminated all the premium channels from the cable package, though. It was nice to know I had access to every channel available and could watch absolutely anything on demand, but I realized I just wasn’t taking advantage of it.

NBC/Universal apparently just rolled out their streaming service, called Peacock, which is included free with Comcast. I might have spent a few hours the other night binging the first season of the Carol Burnett Show.

I was on Paroxetine which is the generic for Paxil when my mother was getting in bad shape and I just couldn’t sleep due to worrying about her constantly, It worked well for the first month or so but I gradually reverted back to the sleep a hour or two and up for an hour or two, I finally got the doctor to put me on Zolpidem Tartrate a generic for Ambien but after a month that wasn’t working either and so I had him put me on Diazepam a generic for Valium 3 - 20mg a day (Took 2 at bedtime) and that seems to help the most combined with my Zolpidem Tartrate.

Insomnia really sucks, Sometimes I would go 2 to 3 days with not hardly any sleep, I hope you can get it under control Mastadon because it can cause all kinds of health issues.

I did find one article that helped me a lot and it involves no drugs whatsoever, It is used by military fighter pilots to fall asleep within 2 minutes, Try it out for yourself and see if it works for you, It did for me, Check out the link below:

We use YouTube TV and love it. It has Foodnetwork and BBC America. You can also buy this season of Doctor Who on Amazon Prime Video.

I could, but I don’t want to buy it, until I do so on blu-ray. I want to just watch it, similarly like I did when I had cable. I have no idea how long it takes to go from purchase/rent to free for Prime members, but it feels way too long.

All hell broke loose last night. The roofers forgot to put a tarp on the incomplete roof and it rained…

Now my apartment is flooded, furniture and books are ruined. My dad got hit too. Called the landlord at 4 am, nothing can be done til 7am when the roofers come back. I have renter’s insurance and I filed a claim, but I’m friggen livid to the point of tears.
