My reply to your post in the (now-void-eaten) thread:

I’ll keep that in mind, though I definitely prefer whole milk. I know I can freeze the milk, so I suppose that’s an option too.

Egg hunts are one of the few things I’d love to go back to my childhood for. Those were fun, especially the one in kindergarten (I actually remember it right down to how the trees looked at the elementary school I was going to!). I remember a few of the other kids being too short to see and/or reach into the crevices of the trees and since I was already an expert tree climber I got some for them and let them have them. It was fun to share and I remember it making me happy seeing everyone else smile.

The Golden State Warriors apparently won their play-in tournament (basketball), and I just checked and they won the first in this best of seven round of the playoffs. The Houston Rockets are no slouches though, so it’s going to be rough going, and if Curry gets his knee hit it’s all but assured we’re out of contention.

I’m wholeheartedly rooting for any Canadian team to take it all. Even better if both teams are Canadian in the finals (is that possible? Not an expert on the divisions in the NHL). I’ve got a friend up in Waterloo whom I’m sure is rooting for the Maple Leafs. I don’t care if it’s syrup or slip-up, as long as a Canadian team is on top this time.

:maple_leaf: :oil_drum:

I’m being indecisive. I require something sweet and I am torn between doing a basque cheesecake or a strawberry cake.

Of course the easy answer is to make both, but after stocking my fridge with leftovers from yesterday - space is an issue. Decisions.

Or get a tub of cheesecake ice cream.

I vote for strawberry cake.

Probably a gaffe on Valve’s part. It’ll likely get rescinded pretty quickly.

Heh, and ESO is apparently doing a WoW thing and selling…parts of their server blades from the OG game. Though I’m rather curious how they can call a stick of RAM a blade…but hey, welcome to 2025 where the only normal thing is abnormality!

Good lord, Nintendo upped the price of Amiibos to a whopping $40 US. So in return for them taking it on the chin with the console prices, we’re getting $80+ games and $40 Amiibos.

I think my desire for a Switch 2 just dropped. A lot.

Lactose free milk IS whole milk, or 2% or whatever you want. It just does not have the lactose sugar in it. Whatever process they use makes it a lot more shelf stable and fridge stable.

Cool. I learned something newmeowrs. I’m always down for that.

And cat friendly! :smiley_cat:

Yeah, Nintendo is sipping on some wild juice with their pricing. If The Duskbloods wasn’t Switch 2 exclusive it would not even be a consideration.

I got burned by Bloodborne, sure not letting it happen twice!

Anyway, new lounge! I…dunno enough about hockey.

I think the $80 for games (potentially $90 for cart versions) without even so much as a physical item to go with the game is utterly tone deaf given the current climate, but the sad reality is they’re doing it because they can. I think what will hurt them in the near term and potentially eat a lot of goodwill is their Mario Kart World bundle being “discontinued in Fall 2025” when the price of the standalone game is $80 and Nintendo knows full well the general public will have almost no luck finding Switch 2s thanks to scalpers. Telling your players you’re going to nuke a money saving bundle shortly after launch is pretty awful, to say the least. :frowning:

Yeah, they have been rolling with the FOMO thing for a good while, but never to this blatant extent. With a console that even with their own event footage sometimes struggles with 30 FPS.

Imagine what they will do with, say, Pokemon if this Mario Kart thing works.

It stinks. Love Nintendo and what they done for the game industry, but their business practices and approach to fan content is the worsttt.

The $80 game prices was determined well before tariffs were a thing on our end, so this is pure corporate greed. The Amiibos aren’t entirely pure greed as their price increase fits with the tariff percentages. But Nintendo isn’t known for lowering prices…like ever. How they haven’t gotten hit by Congress again for price fixing is beyond me, because they’re most assuredly price fixing just like they did almost 40 years ago.

Never could get amibo working so not a game breaker for me.

Were you using it with a joycon or a third party controller?

I only had one amibo and it was wolf link for BOTW/TOTK not sure what i was trying to get it working.

Main reason I asked is because only Nintendo’s own controllers are allowed to have NFC built in. They’re mostly consistent about the NFC point though: https://www.nintendo.com/au/support/articles/how-to-scan-amiibo-on-nintendo-switch/

Controllers from the likes of 8BitDo or any third party really won’t work with Amiibos. TBH that screams anticompetitive, but that’s sadly par for the course for the last ten years at least. I can’t remember if I have either a Skyward Sword or BotW Amiibo. It was a gift. I’m hoping Skyward Sword since that’s the only way to fast travel unless you pay for the digital once per day option.

And I just checked - it’s Skyward Sword. Woohoo. That’ll make the game much less tedious. I still dislike that the option to repair equipment in BotW is Switch 2 exclusive and is RNG as well (requires the Notes app). Kinda glad I’m able to play WoW again at least in a somewhat rudimentary way. I’ll have a tried and true fallback if Nintendo’s greed turns out to be too costly for me.
