Had a slightly dangerous walk this morning. With all the melting yesterday, and the near-below freezing temps overnight, there were lots of icy spots out there. But the worst was actually my own sidewalk; I’ll have to get out with some ice-melt at some point. We’re going to stick with this thaw/freeze cycle for a few more days, though we’re expecting snow tomorrow that’ll switch to rain. Whee.
We have an A&W about 10-15 minutes away that we go to every once in a while. But man… fast food is so expensive lately.
Gonna be a weird day, I’m guessing, based on the work-drama from yesterday.

Good morning, here at work. Super pumped for the patch, got an RP arc planned all for it, gonna actually make my guild a thing once it’s all done…It’s great.
My mind and body feels healthier than it’s been in a long, long time. I’m just…excited to get things going. Garden prep is all set for this spring, and have some things lined up later this year, too. Things are just…well, good.
That’s about the account compromise, right? It sounded downright spooky.
Hope it gets ironed out. We haven’t had a repeat of the suggestive furry art situation yet, so I’m thinking the powers that be fixed the vulnerability.
I got no game time, so no popcorn for me today. Though I consider it lucky to have no game time. Can’t post in threads that tend to be there for trolling.
Anyways, time to make my way to the Crab Nebula in ED. Since got nothing else better to do at the moment.
/gives the lounge a nice tidy up, fluffs up the cushions on the couch, puts fresh logs on the fire, adds fresh coffee, tea, soft drinks, juice, water, and a whole variety of food from pancakes and waffles to fruit and snack food to the table. Also puts down some bacon for the fox and some deviled eggs for Mirasol.

I’m not sure I have a favorite overall. McDonald’s currently has the best fries, but the Whopper might be my favorite fast food burger. I think the “flame broiling” actually does improve the flavor. (I put it in quotes because I’m skeptical that it’s really grilled over flame like they show in the ads, but there’s definitely something going on that adds flavor.) Haven’t had them much lately, partly because I’m trying to cut back on fast food, but also because the BK near my house is extremely terrible.
Like, it is hard to say which is better when it really comes to any of the major fast food chains, because they all have good stores with the best food, and they all have bad stores with food that makes you wish you never went. And while sometimes I go to Maccas or Hungry Jack’s within my area, I usually go to the nearby sushi place and have sushi when it comes to take out.
Ofcourse, sometimes I get even lazier and just order KFC through Uber, but half the time, always an item missing or something looks like it has been half eaten
I have a lot of those too, but they’re still just awkward in this closet.
The bathroom has what, in the upstairs units, is a nicer (though still awkwardly deep) closet. In those units, the water heater lives in the air conditioner closet. But in the “garden level” units like mine, there’s a sump pump under the a/c, so the water heater can’t live there and takes up most of this bathroom closet instead. So I have a couple of shelves but the lowest one is above my eye level and the highest one requires tiptoes to reach.
When I moved in, there was a bent wire hanger in there and I went, huh, someone forgot to toss this, and I threw it away. Then when I actually put stuff in the closet, I realized what it was for and had to make my own bent hanger reaching tool!
I suppose the minor good news is that I think a water heater that would fit under the a/c would probably be smaller than the one I have.
Both linen closets and the a/c closet have folding metal doors. I think if the water heater or a/c ever needs replacing, they’ll have to take the doors off. Crossing my fingers that never needs to happen while I live here!

Wendy’s fries used to be the best, but a while back everybody changed their fry recipes (maybe at the time when they all stopped using beef tallow) and I prefer McDonald’s now.
Door removal should be today if the curtain I ordered gets here. Just a simple white washable fabric shower curtain. If it does not work, I just save it for when my current shower curtain wears out. In this case, the door comes off with some creative spring pushing and lifting out of the tracks. I can get the door off pretty easily! I think… We shall see how that goes when I try it.

Yesterday I washed all the towels before putting them in again.
On the seldom occasion I get fast food it’s usually Burger King. Mostly for breakfast: The one near my home has great breakfast sandwiches which keeps me going until lunch.
I’ve found that to be true for most, but McDonald’s is really good at having consistent food quality. Most of it might be consistently mid, but at least you know what you’re getting. Service is more variable, though. That’s actually the worst problem with the BK by my house - the service is even more variable than the food.
It also has more variable customers. Once I was in the process of pulling to the window when a lady pushed past my car on the driver’s side so she could walk up to the window and start shouting at the staff about missing pickles or something equally trivial. I wanted to say hey, Karen, you’re already out of your car, maybe go use the door and go inside? but I didn’t, because if someone’s that upset over pickles, I really don’t want to start something with them.
I don’t really eat fast food to speak of, unless I am traveling and it is the only option.
I DO like subs/hoagies though. Jersey Mike’s is probably hands down the best chain here. Wawa is not as good, but still decent and there are more of them when traveling. Or…just out getting groceries and stopping on the way home.
I mean, like, yeah, but it is actually more of a very different story here.
Had roast beef last night for dinner, but some reason, it didn’t even turn out as good as normally would. And only bought the food a couple days ago too.
