[CS Lounge] Caffeine, Snacks, and a Warm Fire

It’s 34 here, and we’re getting a “wintry mix” with a little fog. Next few days are going to be warm, so I think most of the snow will melt.

It must be almost March: It’s weather whiplash around here. Thursday it was extreme wind chill warnings and now it’s almost 60 (15 ish C). Good if it melts off the snow from Tuesday.

Although not nearly as whiplashy as yours, we had a really, really warm night the last two nights. So much so that I actually needed to pop my feet out from under my bedspread that I use as a blanket for my recliner chair where I sleep and ditch the gloves I wear at night in cold weather. It was like BOOM, warm. I’m so used to frigid weather that even 68ºF makes me sweat now.

I have pictures of the latest project - before, during, and after. Note the 1947 post WW2 stucco/concrete and plaster. Corners are cracked, baseboard missing, yellow paint is something like 50 years old, or more and flaking up top. The smaller wall boards on the right were done during plumbing access/replacement at some point before I got the house. Clean and fixed now! Very very solid construction though which you don’t get anymore.

Nephe cough cough prefer normal flying myself dont mind dragon riding.

Wow, that’s a really nice looking piece of work you did! I probably would have screwed up the wallpaper though. I’m great with computer parts, not so much with larger objects. Hope you can get some real rest after doing all that!

Normal flying should really be unlocked along with skyriding. Skyriding isn’t exactly the most disabled friendly mechanism in the game (to say nothing of people that get motion sickness even with the effects turned down).

I didnt want to side rail the other topic ive got nothing against dragonriding i jist prefer the old fadhioned riding.

That is the great thing about this stuff. It is self adhesive, but it comes off so if you mess up you can reposition it. I used the painter’s tape to help me hold it in position while I got the top started and aligned right. That took a bit and a few tries. Once I got it started though I just worked my way down the wall removing the painter’s tape holding it as I went. You just peel off the backing as you go and smooth it to the wall. I DID screw up in that I did not realize the wall was wider at the bottom than the top. So I had to do some smaller strips on the right edge to cover the wider spots. The pattern is simple so was easy to match up.

My biggest problem is my right arm. Because it’s deformed, I have to angle myself differently so my right palm can run flat against the surface. It’s one of the reasons when putting together a computer I actually lay on the ground and install many of the case components that way. I can, however, remove regular wallpaper just fine. I did so prior to my bathroom being renovated fifteen years ago. I like paint better anyway since humidity is wallpaper’s worst enemy.

Well, lesson learned. Don’t one-shot King Mechagon while he is in the mechanical vehicle part of the fight. Cause then he never pops out of it and the whole thing falls off screen. RIP that loot.

Mornin’ y’all, and Happy Monday.

Fairly decent morning so far. Temps in the upper 20s, heading to just above 40. Looks like we got a bit of wet snow or freezing rain overnight - my car has a nice coating of beading water frozen on it. And perhaps a little more is on the way (it might pass just north of us).

heads off in search of coffee

Good morning. Waiting for my routine blood draw.

Got my human Rogue to 80, and even only with Siren Isle gear he is doing pretty wild damage. Think I have my Horde and Alliance mains lined up.

It’s getting warmer here, should be around 50 by the end of this week! Spring weather is a comin’.

Have a CT scan later this week, shouldn’t be anything serious, doc thinks it’s a hernia. It hasn’t been bothering me any and I’m of the mindset of 'if we don’t need to don’t ’ with my body nowadays.

Anyway, blood then work. Breakfast in between. Hope you all have a great Monday!

Totally understood! However making sure you don’t have an emergency hernia malfunction down the road is a good idea. Might as well fix it while you can, if there is something they can do. Nobody wants other organs caught in it and then an emergency surgery required. Most of that stuff is done with the minimally invasive techniques nowadays. Fancy.

/Tidies the lounge, readies it for Monday. It will be Monday all darn day. Sets up the fresh, hot coffee vats, hot water kettle, assorted teas, assorted toppings/add-ins. Sets out a fresh blueberry coffee cake with crumb topping.

Maybe today I will get to the laundry. Maybe not. I am close to having Season done in D4 so I can get my Raven pet!

This is always something to consider for any boss fight with scripted encounter progression. Many of them won’t tolerate jumping phases.

OTOH, some will. Like, thankfully, Sargeras in ToS. Because phase 2 and onward with all the orb dancing and add killing and “you can’t see anything” is just needlessly annoying.

Lesson? I guess there isn’t one. My approach is to see if I need to treat the encounter gently the first time, and if that doesn’t work out, I try going in blasting.

You’re right. I’ll find out what to do with it after the scan. If it’s not a huge thing then I’ll see if minimal invasive treatments are possible.

For now, though, super darn tired. Woke up a lot earlier than usual.

Takes a healthy amount of coffee for himself. :coffee:

Oh that is definitely the best approach. This was the first time I had this issue with that boss. Normally hitting with a chaos bolt would still enable King Mechagon to leave the vehicle and fall dead to the floor. However, today he decided to just skip the leaving part altogether.

Will definitely go in with kid gloves from now on and tickle him til he leaves the vehicle properly.

I do know from experience that King M is a little too sensitive to reliability ignore phasing. And plinking him to move him along through all phases isn’t too bad. (Not like Sargeras :face_with_symbols_over_mouth:)

Now that was a great short story. Shaw did a fine job narrating it.

Yeah, it came out really well! I didn’t think Shaw could have so much goblin in him.

I like Renzik, just wish he had more airtime in WoW. I think a lot of folks forget goblins are still almost entirely neutral. We just have the handful of exceptions, and heck, Renzik is involved outside of SI:7 interests.

I tend to do the opposite, so it usually goes: go in blasting, get stuck in some wonky state, and then spend 30 minutes checking Wowhead for advice while waiting for the instance to reset.
