Still not feeling the cooking mojo. Had leftover pizza.
Did get the last coat of paint on the closet shelves. Yay done. I can put them back in the closet tomorrow.
Did use a drill, finish nails, and wood glue to fix a baseboard that is also painted and ready to install.
Got flustered trying to fix the louvered folding linen closet door that drags on uneven tile. I can’t change the tile. Could in theory change the door - or trim the door. Door does not have much space to trim off before it messes with the louvers. Temp solution will be to remove the door and hang a white curtain on a spring rod. Selected a white waffle weave heavy fabric shower curtain so that I can use it for other things if I need to later! That should keep the dust out but allow critical air flow through to the roof vent at the top. Door can be dealt with later and maybe reinstalled.
Got the dishes done.
Napped.
I really should go do things before the WoW patch but I just… blah. I need to at least spend my currency I guess. Maybe on materials boxes.
So my work doing a deep clean of everyones lockers tuesday and we have to clean them out its amazing how much junk acumalates in a locker.i even found my original nametag.
Hope you all having a great night! Or early morning for some of you. Currently 3:30 in the morning here as I type this.
Did some random Epic Battlegrounds with a guild member tonight. Entered a random Alterac Valley match which lasted well over (1) hour. Took forever for either side to get a single tower down. Majority of the first hour we were clashing right in the halfway mark of the map.
Ended up winning in the end! Reminded me of the long BG matches back when this game first came out. Got a crazy amount of Honor and Honorable Kills as well as a result of the long match.
Dragon Soul was the first raid I actually ran for progression. We never cleared Heroic, but we did get Normal. Which was pretty good, for a bunch of once/twice a week scrubs.
Looks like a quiet day around here today. We’ll go out to breakfast, then maybe a little house stuff. And a short-ish walk at some point, I suppose (we’ve already got our five miles in, but I really should start bumping that up a bit, at least on the weekends).
I’m planning on making red beans and rice for Fat Tuesday. From scratch, since it doesn’t seem all that difficult. And, I think I need to hunt down a brisket so I can make corned beef for St Patty’s day. March is a good month for cooking.
Checks the fire, adds some wood, then settles in for a nap
/Notes the lovely fire, and sleeping Poctz. Adds a blanket to the Poctz lump on the couch.
/Quietly goes about setting up the morning coffee vats, hot water kettles, cocoa, juices, etc. Sets out a large tray of bagels, cream cheeses, pastries, donuts, muffins, and fruit.
I did a little more progression in Legion, but now I just do LFR. I’d do some casual Normal raiding if I could find a super-laid back guild. But I don’t want to get into anything that’s taking it too seriously.
I, too have a linen closet with a folding door. I call it the World’s Most Awkward Linen Closet. 36" deep, 20" wide, but the opening is only 12" wide. I can’t reach the back of this space without getting inside the closet, but it’s a tight squeeze for me. Some things I thought I was going to keep in there, that would fit on the shelves, won’t fit through the door. Plus it’s in an awkward corner half blocked by furniture because my bedroom is so small.
I’m nearly done decluttering my bedroom, and one of the things I did was stop trying to keep towels in this closet. It now has only things I use rarely.
That sounds good! I should do that too. Pretty sure I have a sausage in the freezer, and I definitely have red beans and all the correct spices.
I am not the only one in a strangely sized house made for hobbits! I seriously feel that way sometimes. On the good side, I am short and it suits me. On the other hand it can be frustrating. My solution to deep closets and shelves is clear bins that slide out. Then I can see everything, and also reach the back. Thankfully I fit inside my linen closet.
My biggest decluttering issue is going to be clothes. I have not grown since I was 13 and I also don’t get rid of much. I DID give away some of my nice size XS/2 work clothes when I was unable to work anymore, but that is about it. I hope I never get that small again! The rest though, I LIKE clothes. Which is really odd because I don’t leave the house most months and live in jammies/lounge clothes.
I have “walking clothes,” but once I’m back from my morning walk, it’s jeans (or other casual pants) and a button down shirt on work days, and a polo or sweater on days off. Even though I don’t ever do video calls or go into the office, I still like looking at least somewhat professional. I’m definitely not like the average IT guy/gal who wears a t-shirt and sweats. Surprisingly, I’ve become a lot like my dad in that aspect, who almost always wore shirts with buttons.
Your humidity is way higher than ours right now, but I do know how those high ones feel. They will be returning to us very soon. Hopefully yours lowers quickly.
