On that topic, regardless of whether you’re on Team Red, Team Green, or Team Eww (Arc), you should go into gpedit.msc > Computer Configuration > Administrative Templates > Windows Components > Windows Update > Do not include drivers with Windows updates and enable that one. This will prevent Windows from downloading out of date graphics drivers whenever you try to manually clean up or reinstall a driver.
They “open sourced” it with a license that wasn’t actually open source and was technically illegal to force on users. You can still get the source, but yeah, they messed up on that.
See above, because Windows updates themselves will normally override that setting unless you edit the group policy mentioned above.
Unless you’ve both disabled Windows Update via services.msc and disabled the WaaS Medic service (it revives Windows Update if it isn’t disabled), Windows can still update on its own. Ask me how I know this after having to stop Windows updates on my dentist’s workstations so their x-ray drivers wouldn’t get munged…
Aaaaand FedEx just notified me that my IKEA table will be arriving tomorrow instead of today. When I’m going to be in San Francisco at UCSF. Bleeeeeeeeeeeh.
I haven’t had that problem yet. Maybe I am just lucky.
The only issue I have with windows, is not having that option to place the taskbar somewhere else on the screen… Like how we used to be able to do it with Windows 7 and prior.
I know you can still do this on Windows 10, but I’ve heard that Windows 11 is bottom/center and is highly…unconfigurable in that regard. Given the one good, one bad cadence both Apple and Microsoft have with their OS releases, Windows 12 can’t come soon enough.
To be fair… It truly seems like you are trying to get a rise out of the other forum users. I offered you a heads up. Your account could be actioned. And I honestly wouldn’t want to see that.
I was going to quote the first amendment. But to be honest I’m not trying to argue with you. I was honestly offering you some advice that may help you out in here before the blues decide to get involved.
So, with that. I wish you the best. And good luck in your future gaming endeavors.
