there is something wrong with the math behind the spell Crushing Depths cast by the last boss of Eye of Azshara, Wrath of Azshara. It says it does 60% of your max HP split to everyone in 12 yards, but it is scaling with key level aswell. It is also not being affected by the vers damage reduction meaning that in a 34, a dps with 400% vers and 200 million HP is getting hit for 360 million damage.
This is unlivable, and the only ability to behave this way in all of the keys I’ve been soloing.

Just did a 40 tonight it one shot each of us one at a time. We thought maybe we needed to stack? Turns out that that is not the case.

I am here posting this after the supposed hotfix went in about 5-6 hours ago.
I am getting absolutely merc’d by this ability through my Mana Shield, full HP and 340% Versatility, which combined puts me at nearly 300M HP. This just caused me to brick a solo +32 key that I was about to 2-chest.
How can they say it’s been fixed? Ridiculous.

Yeah, the hotfix doesn’t seem to be very successful.
As Balance and Guardian with 258% versatility Crushing Depths overkills me by 100+ million through Barkskin + Bear Form. The timer is too quick to out DPS before dying even with Eternus/BL shenanigans.
I can survive with Survival Instincts up, but the CD is such that I’ll just die on the next one anyway.

ya there is no fix yet. still getting 1 shot. such a pain to have to lower my key an extra 5+ lvls when it’s EoA just so i can kill the boss before he casts 1 spell.

If someone working for blizzard is going to create a post and in said post describe how there was a hotfix implemented on something broken in game, then it turns out it wasn’t fixed.
Maybe have a team member come back and correct that post or update the post with further information as to how the problem still persists.
I can assure you the event in question is still mercing the ever loving crap out of people myself included. Last week, not an issue, this week, every time I get Eye of Ashara if I do not push and push hard to one shot that boss at the end before he casts his one shot spell, it’s game over.

Still getting hit for way too much by this. Hotfix was definitely false. Got hit for 1B on a 42, and my max health pool is definitely not 1.7B which is what that would roughly math out to be.

Yeah this mechanic just wiped my key. Super frustrating. Hitting for over 1B on a 37, everything else was smooth sailing.

Yupp, tried a 41 with our group, and stacking/not stacking made zero difference. Was instant death.
We were running just 4 of us (300+ versatility average for everyone), and, if this thing wasn’t over powered, we would have been fine.
Re-ran it as a 40 after the initial fail and pulled in 1 other person. We were able to DPS fast enough that only 1 person had to sacrifice themselves before we downed the boss (we didn’t stack this time 'cause we knew it was instant death regardless).
But anyway. Please fix the fix that didn’t fix the thing.

On +40, did 650 mil through all defensives on my DK, 839% vers.
Weeks later, lmao.

Bug is still there. Got 1 shot through Unending Resolve in a +35 with 662% vers for about 300million. For some reason Dark Pact was able to fully absorb it with no damage making it through, letting me finish the key, but the bug is definitely still present.

Can confirm. Balance druid, DH tank, Frost DK, all 700-800 versatility. Handled entire dungeon up to that point easily with plenty of time left. All one-shot by the mechanic with +49 key. Very frustrating, we would have gotten final achievement if not for stupid bug claimed to been fixed.
I was hit for 300M damage (with M+ buff that increases health), and 700M overkill. Being hit for a total of 1 billion health is NOT 60% of my health.
Edit: the strategy, at least at the upper 40’s level and above, is to save all battle rez’s, and use them all in that final boss fight. This means you will want: (1) redundant battle rez classes (druid, DK, pally, etc.), and (2) ensure you have enough dps to punch past a few Crushing Depths to get the boss to 0%. Sadly this strategy won’t fit those trying to solo (need battle-rez), or duo (might not have enough dps) - Blizzard needs to fix bug to allow that.
Keep in mind: druid rez’s to 100% health, DK/pally to 60%, and shaman to 20%.
