Weird… The Greatest Expansion of all time… “Mist of Pandaria” had the most crowd control in the game. So something tells me what you just suggested would be very unhealthy for the game.
Healers complain more often than I that cc is too much right now, and blizzard already reduced some cc durarions so I guess they agreed cc was too strong. Anyone that sees themselves, use all defensives and still die in 2 seconds, whether stunned or not, knows the pace of pvp is too high, long cc chains just make certain someone dies, and some specs have far more effective cc than others. High damage relative to player health and deffensives and long cc chains togther make the game less fun(for those cced and dead very quickly). The nerf to pvp main stat buff on gladiators distiction and some specs that were too favorably tuned will be live in 2 days and we will see how much it helps. Getting occationally feared isnt my concern, its getting killed while in the first cc that cant be removed early that bothers me.
As a healer main that’s getting sick of this game. There are far too many micro ccs still that just don’t dr. It’s rediculous. Especially in solo shuffle where if you have a teammate that forces you out into a bad spot you can get into a 35sec cc chain depending on comp you are facing.
I would agree that cc is out of control, but that’s half the issue. The other half is damage reduction. I can think of one class in particular that shows both sides of this coin quite loudly is the sub rogue. Where if you do not have a trinket you will die before ever getting out of the stun, and even if you did have a trinket you lack the damage reduction to make any sufficient counter play on said rogue before they have chomped most for you hp. Or even the monks opening window just chomping you down into TOD range and that’s with only 2 major ccs to their name. This is most noticeable in bg’s were everyone is blasting one another with stuns and melee 7/10 times gets cratered even with the help of a healer, unless you are a smart ret pally the dying breed that is. CC would be more meaningful if the damage reduction in pvp was greater making it so you would have to be wise about using it rather then face-rolling the keyboard like a fury warrior on their 6th can of redbull.
why is there still spamable cc in the game??? make it have a cooldown for 12 secs or something i mean come on… its simple.
As an alternative to rewarding specs that are/can become cc immune with more cc immunity, how about we make all CC DR all CC, idk, maybe do both. CC perspective for me is always its too strong when I’m CCed and too weak when who I CC keeps walking like I didnt just use a 1 or 3 min cool down CC on them.
sadly I pvp more often then Pve…the better option is to switch to a priss Blizzard beloved class that gets all the easy dance moves like 2 hodges 3 bops and a donkey ride
Mists p v p was awesome. But to avoid most of the other specs using crowd control on me, I would just wait until somebody was already in combat AND half health and then nuke them with my one shot macro. Rarely would I be out of steath if my 2 min cds wernt being used and my kill target wasnt both silenced and stunned. The alternative was to be playing Blood DK. Where I could fight five people at the same time and slowly kill them all while flag carrying. Being CCed wasnt a huge concern as a grip/Deathstrike after the CC ended would sustain me. Players dont see CC as a good part of the game if they can die in the first CC they cant immediatly remove. So playing tanky specs or specs with lots of CC is the most enjoyable.

oh I’m fine thanks …true on the overall priest is the stronger healer then Paladin for sure; but Pallies have superior utilies for creating distance and breaking cc .when I commented about switching classes I didn’t necessarily mean continue to heal. this is of course with underline issue I expressed earlier . trust me alot of healers are getting tired of being cc spammed into oblivion, even with the near instant que we enjoy. honestly my beef is more with solo shuffle then the other arena options as I tend to be mic’ed up when playing those.

Imho CC needs to be toned down across the board. While proper use of CC does demonstrate a high skill cap, being locked out of your character in some way or form for extended periods of time simply feels like bad gameplay. It’s really been this way for far too long in PvP and a breath of fresh air in the form of some changes would be welcome.
My suggestion:
- All CCs share diminishing returns.
- One full and one half duration CC per character can be placed on an enemy character in a 60 second period, up to maximum of three players, after that no CC effects will apply and only damage components of CC go through, if any are applicable.
This leaves CC in the game for well timed kills but de-emphasizes it and gets rid of the cyclone, stun, fear, interrupt combos that are pervasive in group PvP.
