Here’s how dodging works in 1.12 . A raid of 15 is formed for AB, whoever the lowest is on the mafia style list of who’s allowed to get honor ranks is the ‘scout’ if a queue pops only the scout joins the game. He/she looks at the scoreboard, and if every name joining is from the same server, everyone else cancels. The scout gets dropped from the group while he’s under leaver penalty and a new scout joins.
It’s not hard to dodge. In fact, having the server name display in the scoreboard is the easy red flag that makes dodging effective at all. Also, with longer queue times BG groups will be less likely to dodge in general because they don’t want to have nothing to show for a 20 minute queue.
I was in the guild that was running the R14 mafia on my server, I saw all this stuff first hand and even participated in it. This isn’t some hypothetical scenario, or some philosophical musing. This is how it was. And it will likely be worse this time around because information and communication tools are more widely available now.
CRBGs were in 1.12 so they will be in classic, sadly. But don’t fool yourself into thinking they were better. Faster=better is the mantra that lead to LFG/LFR, character boosts, heirloom gear, and pretty much everything else that makes modern WoW so different
I grinded to rank13 twice, actually. Once for myself, then a 2nd time accidentally PvPing with my friend until he got rank14. I sadly lost that account, but if you want proof I’m the priest in this video who is very clearly rank13
It promotes headless chicken kill chasing play. Your reputation for being one will no longer carry over to your server. In Vanilla, we knew exactly who “they” were.
Do you realize how dumb you sound right now? Cross realm battle grounds were introduced IN vanilla, they’re not changing anything. If anything you’re the one asking for a change.
Allegedly, but then you consult the forums… (and that’s all that matters) {sarcasm}
Before you dive into the BG forums ask your self this next question…
Will Blizzard add MERC mode to Classic WoW to lower the Q times in CRBG for Classic WoW just like modern wow? Because with out MERC mode the BG Q’s are truly ridiculous.
I find it absolutely hilarious that people can be ok with CRBG, but are perfectly ok with spending 35 to 45 min in trade chat to form a pug dungeon run.
This is such a good argument it needs repeating! If you can’t wait 30 minutes for a BG queue then I have bad news for you because it’s going to take even longer to form a dungeon/raid. That’s just how classic was.

All the 41 pt talents were also in Vanilla. Weird those seem to be absent from the beta. It’s almost like Blizzard is picking things from different patches and calling it Classic 1.12? You might need a mirror.
just a reminder that this is where this stupid thread should’ve ended.
classic WoW is 99.9% vanilla WoW 1.12, an actual real authentic period of vanilla WoW, as “real” as any other period. and whether you like it or not that’s the patch we’re getting. You can complain about the 0.1% blizz has changed, but CRBGs is not one of those things.
I call your anecdote with my own anecdote, and raise you a baseless insult!
For real though, I’m telling you I really for real actually witnessed first hand CRBGs for real really turning BGs from a source of competition for pvp guilds on my server to a pug-stomping grind highly optimized to gain maximum honor per hour and avoid actual competition at all cost. That’s a real thing that really happened for real in the real past when actual real vanilla WoW was really going on. I cannot stress how much this is a real example and not hypothetical or hyperbole.
Lol. Doomsayer posts like this have been happening since it was announced.
Calling somebody out for fear mongering is not baseless.
Baseless is assuming that WoW’s pvp will be nonexistent because of CRBG’s.
Never was a problem, only became a problem in TBC with flying because you never say anybody… Layering is a much bigger issue if its not removed when its no longer purposeful for allowing a smooth entrance into Classic.
