Cross server bgs will kill the PvP community

^-----------------------------------------------
The Rivalries still happen… that is what World PVP is for…MOST Rivalries start with the lvling… or… When you see that rich thorium … and like OMG mine!!! and some Bob-biss rogue comes out and ganks you… and he keeps doing it >.> or… when you are doing Ony Chain and running to quest giver and a gankers are waiting…

had to edit that… was bad…

While the rivalries do often start in the world you don’t always encounter all the possible rivalries on the server because not everyone plays the same patterns.

As a result in Vanilla for what’s essentially the entirety of Vanilla wow that existed before 1.12 (the end of vanilla), there were a lot of PVP rivalries that started in the BG’s also because some of those people you already had a rivalry with were grouped with some others whom you also loved to hate.

Because of the frequency of seeing the PVP community of your own server in the BG’s and in the world the feeling of community was strong and a huge part of the experience.

CRBG took all that and flushed it down the toilet.

  1. Most of the rivalries died off.
  2. The BG community has a weak spirit and often say “just let them win”
  3. The anonymity of the CRBG system allows people to AFK or cheat with out getting reported because almost no one cares in an anonymous system.
  4. CRBG is a bandaid for bad server management and the end result is a lopsided imbalanced situation where all the PVP players with even a shred of skill end up on a single faction. (see modern wow; that’s the kind of people that PVP now)

No. It wont. Crbz were literally apart of pvp in vanilla.

Crbz only linked 3-4 servers. You still saw the exact same people day in and day out. Rivalries still happen.

People are confusing vanilla crbz with cross realm that happened later.

They aren’t the same.

Feels like you are putting to much on CRBG…

  1. Rivalries die due to players not going out in the world… or stop playing… You rly can’t say rivalries die cus of CRBG… They could have died fomr them not playing anymore… or other reasons…

  2. BG community is only weak as the sever is to start with, weak players are just weak over all. They are also the ones that are like ohh… we wiped 3 times… “DC” and they don’t come back on for the rest of the night… You can’t Blame CRBG for “players” mind set.

  3. Everyone should be reporting AFK’ing players if they are not… Then it goes back to point 2. It’s a player base issue not CRBG.

  4. CRBG being a band aid for bad sever? The issue back in the day was them not being able to have more players on severs, and or keeping them stable with more players…" what reason"
Also players will go to w/e faction they want for PVP, if they think it will give them a edge in pvp… or raiding… we have seen that over the years of wow…

Most of this is all player issues… and player decision… You rly can’t say CRBG is at fault for that…

I think you’re insane.

An authentic vanilla experience being the goal does not mean choose the very last patch and that’s it. Cross realm was, as mentioned, basically a beta test for TBC, introduced at the end of vanilla.

They pretty clearly stated that part of the reason they’re using 1.12 is that it’s the most complete version of vanilla, part of that completeness includes CRBG’s which fix queue time issues.

In battlegrounds, I wouldn’t mind cross-relam BGs under the pretense that our battlegroups are limited to 2-3 servers.

For the sake of Classic, no cross-realm battlegrounds would be ideal.

IMO CRBGs helped save PVP and world/realm rivalries. Queue times were sometimes 30 to 45 minutes. In response to this players, especially players trying to achieve rank 14, win traded.

Ten Alliance and ten Horde would collaborate/Count-down-queue together for WSG. The teams would sit mid dancing with each other, or dueling, while one faction would have their fastest flag runners retrieve and score with the flag. Then next match the other team would do the same. This made the queue times for people not involved in win trading over an hour.

Like posters have stated above, even with the CRBG, you still saw the same players over and over, it just increased the player base.

Alright so you want to remove Naxx then too? It was in a patch that had cross realm. Whole thing has to go if one bit is problematic to you.

That’s the beauty of #nochanges. It doesn’t discriminate to any feature of Vanilla based on patch. It’s a simple way to say, with a very few amount of characters “Give us Vanilla exactly the way it was before it went away”. Good with the bad.

Oh so NOW 1.12 isn’t “real Vanilla” huh? What is “real Vanilla” to you people? 1.0?

Talk about moving the goal posts.

Crbz and battlegrounds were the same thing in vanilla. They were just another word for each other.

The goalposts were always that which existed within the vanilla timeframe. crbgs were not in vanilla until the very end, and asking for them not to be in is not remotely a goalpost move.

1.12 is Vanilla.

Thus, CRBGs were in Vanilla.

Thus saying you want them out is moving the goal posts. It’s no longer authenticity, it’s idealized vanilla. It’s what you wanted Vanilla to be. It’s “if the players ran World of Warcraft.”

It would only be a goalpost move if we had been asking for 1.12. Sorry cupcake, your goalpost assertion is laughable.

And blizzard has been real clear for what a year that we’re getting 1.12. We’re not getting a frankenpatch, not sure how people are still confused about this.

Well cross server bgs were more bc then they were classic.

It set us up on the course of afker spike in bgs, because hardly anyone did that.
And it increased que times for those of us who were not suffering from it.

How is removing items and blocking raids not a frakenpatch?
DireMaul won’t be there day 1 in 1.12 classic because blizzard made a frankenpatch. Naxxramas was out during this time as well mr troll, and were not getting it because it is a franken patch.

it definitely helps with faction ratios, it pretty dumb to say it does nothing about that. it wont solve it completely though

i’ll be glad when i can actually play during off hours too.

im starting you wish you played alliance lol

I remember the PvP community still being strong even in BC and early Wrath. Names still earned notoriety in battle-groups.

Sorry I cant hear you over the sound of this Franken Patch…
