Cross Realm Trading Status

This reminds me of the Path of the Titans announced for Wrath of the Lich King, along with the data leak of Frostmourne. Nothing but silence, again: it’s not like we’re not paying for their paychecks.

Cross-Realm Trading… It’s been almost a week now.

I’m not expert about us servers, but the eu server reset is on wednesday at 6, if I recall the us reset already came?

And it’s still not enabled?

Cause if that’s the case I’m afraid it’s gonna take another reset minimum, in both regions…

I haven’t checked ingame but the same message is still on the Launcher and one of the few things they said is that they’d let people know when it was reenable.

I assure you, it’s still down. It’s not like they have the ability to test their patches ahead of time to see if there might be an issue. I’d love to see what instability issue is being caused.

Ah, right, as long as the message is there there’s no point in testing if it’s solved: when they end a shutdown early the “servers will be down until” message disappears, so it would’ve disappeared if they had fixed it.

OK interesting… the message is gone now.

Just tried to trade something, get a message “only conjured items.”

And in its place is a maintenance notification. If I were to guess, the two are connected. Hopefully there will be a fix after this maintenance.

Wouldn’t hold my hopes up too much. My gut tells me this will end up being one of those things that was a thing for a brief period of time and people will remember it while it lasted - and then we’ll never see it again, with total radio silence. Reason? It gave players way too much flexibility. I hope I am wrong but unfortunately I think I just described how pretty much any MMO works these days.

That’s very strange that they removed it but, according to what people said, still doesn’t work, because for example in EU we had the shutdown message and under that the statement cross realm was disabled, then once shutdown ended only the cross realm thing was left. I’m talking about the breaking news section in game ofc.

What I’m worried about is, like I thought immediately: if this goes through, a lot less people will use character transfers for gold making, so I thought it was strange blizzard gave up on profit from transfers like that, so that’s definitely a suspicion if they’re unable to fix it.

Exactly. Why would they ever give up a cash cow unless it wasn’t making them profit?

Well, here’s to hoping that you’re right. I can see there being some degree of potential profits lost with the system being the way it is now.

Having to buy tokens / transfers / guild transfers / etc. is kind of getting stale. Additionally, it really makes it feel as if there’s pay to win. (I’m not making a judgment as to whether WoW is or is not p2w, only speculating on consumers’ perceptions).

Luckily, more and more p2w games have been dying and seeing people migrate quickly to other avenues. So yeah, maybe their “cash cow” is a bit old and is sitting in the way of some newer clever way to milk the playerbase.

I feel it’s either that or Blizzard really is hoping that they attract enough new players within the foreseeable future to offset the loss and clean the game up so that they can keep a newer generation of WoW players.

I’m not sure. Things aren’t always as black and white as they seem.

And now the message is back and the maintenance message for today is gone.

Fail.
I have 599 mana pots in my bags waiting to trade to my M+ healer buddy.

Yeah cross-realm trading so far.

But they do test them. What do you think we’re paying for here? The honor and privilege of live testing their game. Makes me all warm and fuzzy inside like when nzoth calls me his chosen

Mmm, I checked now in the EU and we don’t have the message any more, either in game or in the bnet app, I haven’t been able to check yet, but I also didn’t see any comment from anyone saying it’s fixed.

Confirmed not fixed in the EU either: the message it’s disabled reappeared now.
