I was having trouble too, until I tried this. Thanks for the tip.
just to have shared stuff like a normal guild, plus the perks.
I thought that they died long ago. The only ones I ever valued had been the mass resurrection ones. And having guild perks, farming guild perks solo in a guild? That is just insane, I’d never do that even if there were guild perks to be had but that’s just me. I feel like that’s really, really intriguing to go to such length to avoid socializing but I can’t blame people; maybe they got burnt real bad.
Also never noticed a lack of these perks whatever they may be because my characters that I frequently use are always guilded in heavily populated ones so it never really made me feel like I’m missing anything.
The biggest guild perk for me is that shorter CD on the hearthstone.
That alone makes it worth being in a guild, even if its someone elses.
Some days Im bipping and bopping all over the game world.
You don’t have to farm them, but when you have tons of alts (an alt army) you don’t have to have every alt in a regular guild. They have a nice perks tab on the guild thing so you can see them.
Basically, if you are not in any guild at all you are missing out on some basic perks.
This is huge. Because I realize now, my friend kept asking me how the heck was my hearth CD so short and I didn’t really know what to tell him. Thanks, I’ll let him know about this now
Just tried it and you end up with a code that you can then use to get the alt into the community fast and then its really quick to get into the guild from there
My guild that has never had anybody in it but me and my alts has 1190 achievement points.
All you need is a battle net friend to join your guild long enough to invite your alts. That’s what I did. Worked no problem. Did the same for him.
Yes, they’re pointless and useless if your alts are cross faction.
Not at all large storage, easily transfer gold and items and faster Hearthstone.
dont even need a friend.
I tried this and its the bomb.
once you get it set up and get that code from the bliz page, adding alts from the other side is a breeze
I found it easy enough to add my Alliance alts to my Horde guild myself, I mean yes it did require a few extra steps which was kind of annoying but it was nowhere near as bad as everyone has been saying it is honestly.
not working for me … the “link” is not a clickable link in my community chat.
Edit: NM … was creating a group not community
Ok, you’re trying to get the guild invite link to appear in the Communities chat.
In order to get the option to even create a link for your guild, you have to turn recruitment on.
Then make sure your cursor is blinking in the community chat before creating the link, copy/paste won’t work.
Log in on alt character and bring up the community page and click the link to apply.
Yeah, I didn’t have my guild LISTED because eeejit.
Without that step, I wasn’t even getting the button for the link.
I don’t know if you’ve fixed this but I found the problem.
When you post a GUILD INVITE LINK with the mini window, you have to MANUALLY SELECT THE COMMUNITY & the yellow invite text will transfer to the community chat window.
This was critical and I didn’t see it mentioned anywhere else.
Thanks for these! Really helped getting the perks for my alts! Such a convoluted process! That thing should be pinned somewhere!
For anyone that comes across this in future, there is an even simpler say to achieve this. Create a macro on the character that is in the guild you want everyone in. Open up the macro window, then open the guild window and get to right before you press the Link Post in Chat. Then click the text area in the macro and then shift click Link Post in Chat. Now you have /cast [Guild: something]. Change /cast to /g or /s or whatever you want. Save macro and log onto the character you want in the guild. Press the macro and then press the guild invite link.
