That’s about a six to one ratio…
I could see that evening out to a more 5 to 1 ratio, still, it’s pretty well favored although 21 votes isn’t anything to accept a trend off of.
The question is a false premise.
You cannot have cross-faction raiding alone, you would need cross-faction everything. Forsaken at the Stormwind auction house, etc.
An honest question would be “Do you support merging Alliance and Horde into a single faction.”
Non-Flagged either side faction sanctum cities could be done, it’s more what exactly is done as most faction player hearthstones are set differently.
That’s another one to consider, however it’s how does Blizzard change and restate the paradigm as asked thus far, raiding is semi-okay, it does not Require cross faction entirely.
Saying cross faction has to go all the way to A-H or H-A crossing seems like a false dichotomy. Players are not the factions. Players working together makes sense. The factions HAVE, and how Blizzard both has and Hasn’t represented that in game is a really large part of the overall issue herein, in game.
You don’t understand.
In order to enter my raid, you need to be in my group outside the raid.
There’s no such thing as “a group or raid that is formed just for arena or raids or whatever”.
If you’re in my group or raid, you’re in my group or raid. Everywhere.
I get that.
Phasing may ease how it works with where players go.
Being able to walk into a city is doable if coded well and properly.
Blizzard isn’t known for making itself have to tackle hard decisions.
Which is why cross-faction play is a non-starter outside of queued content.
It’s just not going to happen without rebuilding the game from scratch.
I guess it depends on what the old 2004 or pre-2004 code such as the backpack and the rest of it can handle that Blizzard might be able to get away with, if and in whatever way they decide to try and patch the current game.
It doesn’t “depend” on anything, the only way to have cross-faction play (outside of queued content) is to eliminate factions from the game entirely.
Hence why the question is dishonest in the first place.
“Would you like triple-fudge ice cream that tastes great and has zero calories?” Sure! But don’t expect it to happen.
no to all. no cross faction if alli is that dead just merge servers and not halfway doing the job when you do merge do it right and no way to cross faction guilding. oceanic aint begging for this crap an d its just flipflooped. no way.
Are you a coder?
I’ve worked with code.
It is very much a measure of keeping a stable patch point on and of the original 2004 or pre-2004 game lua code such that the current game is safely perched and sometimes precariously, upon the game’s internal player driven interactive world design.
Such as, when things break, this is when code written and put in has unforeseen consequences of breaking previously patched and fixed lengths of code such that interaction goes back to where it was, not to after the code is written to do what it is meant to do, and works properly.
Patching this game is not something that is done lightly. Code running on a computer is very much like running some virtual construct of a device. Break it and there’s always that chance of the code unraveling into such a state that one might never recover it.
That’s a very real fear according to industry rumors about WoW. The patches are very much bandaids to some of the fixes that have had to be rushed out to fix game issues.
And if you don’t believe me, check the times WoW has just “Spat” players somewhere. This is a known phenomena, a bit flip due to cosmic rays going through computer hardware and flipping computer bits storing data about information and statuses, such that it just changes, and the computer doesn’t get that it’s wrong.
So coding and patching are a very big part of WoW. It COULD be done. Cross faction options are probably limited DUE to the way the code is written. There may be a way through phasing.
However telling me it is already not possible because YOU don’t see it, is no reason to not at least Try. And that’s the damnedest thing: They are trying, and likely haven’t found the right in game path DUE to the way the in-game code stacks up as an engine.
Seems like they could only make it work in sanctuary areas maybe. Just have one around the stone for each raid or you could be in a sanctuary city and get summoned to the raid.

I dont understand, why can’t it exist when the concept of “hated” reputations exists?
For example, I can go to Booty Bay and can’t interact with any goblin and am killed on sight, but I can still be in the city. Same with other goblin reps, Bloodsail, and several others like Therazane and Brood of Nozdormu.
There shouldn’t be an issue at all imo. It can be as simple (in my eyes) as adding the opposing factions to your Reputation Tab, locking them all at “Hated” and going from there with no fancy new system.
Sorry if I am misunderstanding, but I don’t see how its a problem to let any player group with anyone else nor see how its a problem to implement a way to circumvent the faction issue. I do not code though or know blizzards spaghetti code so it could be a lot harder

That’s about a right spread, from what I feel.

Thank you again, all!
Please stop by and discuss if you’re willing!
As long as the lore doesn’t reflect the change, I say go right ahead with cross faction stuff. I just don’t want to suddenly have the story say that I have to be friends with certain Alliance leaders after the things they’ve done.
I would use more a spec ops approach.
Sometimes the Alliance and Horde hobos have to combine forces to stop the threats.

Interesting, it’s pretty clear this is a thing, just not enough of a scientific sample yet.
This “hated faction” way to handle it is a good idea.
AH is already across faction.
Let Warmode still be hostile to each other in the open world even if grouped.
Questing and storylines and such can all be separate still. Alliance wouldn’t be doing horde storyline questing or anything. But fighting in the open world and all instances would be no problem.
