Cross faction is ruining the game

You’ve actually brought some good points and provided reasons to like the change other than enjoying that other people don’t like it, so that’s a good thing, and appreciated.

Same, brother, same.

These changes drain the color and flavor from the World. The game keeps taking steps towards being more of a MOBA than an MMO. Very unfortunate. Simple minds will be happy about it, ignorant to the cost and what we lose along the way.

If the lore/story writers want to redeem themselves and bring a little freshness back into factions then;

Scramble the factions.

Have some storyline like Calia Menethil brings the forsaken and humans back together. Night elves and Tauren having nature as a shared interest.

Sure - have a tier or two of “peaceful harmony” - everybody gets to visit everybody else’s cities - then have an Old God (there must be some sitting on a shelf or buried underground somewhere) start some… sh…stuff… that causes new alliances to form and resets the whole faction vs. faction in a new direction.

I mean - what canonical leaders are left? Voljin and Varian are dead. Thrall is farming potatoes. Sylvanus is chasing wisps for eternity and playing house (cave) with Anduin in the Maw. Genn is suspiciously MIA. The allied race’s leaders are no where to be found - so there is, outside of Tyrande, really, no leaders actively leading anything, The Dragonflight peeps are spending their time getting beaten up and running away. Khadgar is being… well… Khadgar…

At this point what does Blizz/WoW have to lose by scrambling up the factions? They aren’t working as intended right now.

Yes, people will have a snit about it, the forums will erupt in a perfect storm of feces, and guilds will have to reconstitute themselves - BUT, again - what do we have to lose from a game survival standpoint? Make it Kalimdor vs. Eastern Kingdoms fighting each other for control of other areas.

Toss the salad Blizz! Throw some spaghetti at the wall! Flip the pancake so high it sticks to the ceiling! Put some chaos into the game and see what happens.

If nothing else you might get a few people to come back just to see what the heck happens.

Not to mention all the race transfer fees you could collect…

I’ll trade forum Btags for 100% cross faction everything and the end of this ignant war lol.
Cuz I really dont need to post here ever again anyway.

I run krys with alliance players from Stormrage, Sargeras and Proudmore all the time. They’re alright in my book.

Times change. Unfortunately wow does have the subscriber base it once had. To get enough people to fill pugs in a reasonable time frame, having horde and alliance available really helps.

Same with raids, our guild could not get enough people to run raids, being able to add horde customers too has helped.

Sorry WoW isn’t about Boomer Larpers anymore!

I won.

That’s more of a “raiders/m+ left for horde” thing than a sub count thing.

There was never issue making groups on horde.

Did you know the decision to merge factions in PVE saved Elder Scrolls Online from dying?

I would not know, sure is on alliance. Only problem I encounter is the really low skill level for most Horde (just kidding).

Yea, you need only look at the hall of fame for mythic, Horde fills up a month or more before alliance, there was just not enough people doing high end pve on alliance, it was the main push for xfaction

“but mah faction war”

my dude would you prefer that the game just went 99% horde?

have fun ganking those two guys left in goldshire if they don’t correct course

The inability to balance the factions, as well as the inability to write a compelling faction war story, ruined the horde v. Alliance aspect of the game. Cross faction is the result of this.

‘Always been horde v. Alliance’ but in 18 years it’s never been interesting.

ngl it wasn’t even interesting in TFT when we got our first famous mutual villain over twenty years ago

Warmode was a failure. PERIOD. All players are just playing with the Faction that is more populous than the other Faction. Nobody plays Warmode on a faction with less population. 1vs4, 2vs8 , 3vs12 is not a good PvP. Warmode showed that nobody wants to play on a faction with less players.

When Warmode was realized as a Failure, then Xfaction was introduced. Nobody was killing each other on Warmode anymore anyway. Xfaction on Group Finder was implemented so that you would have more players queueing for groups. The more players on it, the faster you would be able to form a group for Dungeons and Raids.

In Classic, PvP servers were there. You would see some realms with almost zero population on the weaker faction. Their AH and Bank is filled with enemy faction players. ROFL.

Some? There’s like maybe 2-3 pvp realms in the world that are even somewhat balanced lol

I am on one of the highest pop Horde servers and still find plenty of Alliance in larger numbers than Horde in a ton of shards.

Clearly someone that doesn’t play in war mode.

Even on A52 it’s basically a 50/50 shot which side is going to collect supply crates or dominate the siege and tag Lancer at the end. This is just silly.

There has been cross faction in pretty much every expansion I have played since TBC as the citizens of Azeroth are forced to stop trying to exterminate each other to deal with a more powerful outside threat bent on exterminating them all.

The foundation of the game is end game PVE content. There have been ‘some’ attempts to make the faction war interesting, bu I don’t think any were successful. Some zone related content, Hellfire Peninsula and BC Nagrand, Wintergrasp, and Tol Barad come to mind. In the end this community just vastly favors PVE content.
