It’s one of the reasons I hope that Yrel shows up and teaches the Alliance how to Lightforge Horde into the Alliance so I can watch a bunch of people on the forums suddenly do a complete 180 on the ethics of using magic spells to make NPC’s switch factions
This is pure BS. Both factions actively go out of their way to invade other peoples territories and convert them to either alliance or horde.
I don’t want that because it’s still the same problem but being put on someone else. I’d love to kill Lightforged so long as nothing but cannon fodder is converted.
That’s completely false.
I can only imagine the threads. “This is abominable! They’re taking dead Horde soldiers and Lightforging them! The Alliance are yet again hypocritical overlords!” just as it was with Taurajo.
Oh, the Alliance has been casting spells on Horde NPC’s and converting them into Alliance NPC’s? Cool, where?
That’s their way of saying “Not gonna happen”.
At least not narratively.
Gameplay wise I really hope they do it
I’d rather LFG systems just be a system where you’re randomly assigned Horde or Alliance just to make the group finder make a group faster, same way Horde players “become” Alliance races in Caverns of Time dungeons or whatever
Alliance que times are ridiculous right now, for both PVE and PVP, and the “Hall of Fame” being divided by faction is kinda dumb given the playerbase segregation.
Removing racial abilities that led to that imbalance now wouldn’t fix it either.
Blizzard is reassessing a lot of things that they once insisted would never happen as of late.
I’ll be honest I forgot that one existed.
Good. The factions have done nothing but harm racial flavor in my opinion. Hope it dies off and we can instead choose minor factions to add flavor to our character instead of ‘me Alliance/me Horde’. Factions never should have been brought into the game.
Draenei and Night Elf characters change in those timeways as well.
Yes yes you know what I meant
It’s probably better that Blizzard avoid physically transforming people’s characters any more than necessary if we’re going to be taking the angle that race fantasy is of paramount importance.
No it would be fine actually
I mean it also depends on the situation too, like running a CoT dungeon or some such. I haven’t met many complain about their chars being changed temporarily to serve a specific purpose
As bloodthirsty for Alliance as I was back in 2019 I’m completely tapped out on Horde vs Alliance now a days. I would be all for this just to walk around Stormwind if it meant to reignite my passion for RP again.
I just want to be able to interact with people other than alliance members. It would soo much fun to say, explore orgrimaar or Quel’thalas as a worgen player
Hey guys it’s been a while I’ve been playing way too much New World lmao.
So, re the merging of the factions.
No.
It’d feel stupid and forced. There’s FAR too much bad blood between the factions. If we suddenly made everyone hold hands and kiss while sharing all lands and borders it would be the absolute DEFINITION of horrible.
I’m of a mind with Baal in this case. No more war necessary, but faction lore and borders can still create interesting stuff narratively.
Honestly sounds cool. I mean hell Alliance could get alternate timeline Garrosh. Can be Anduin’s angry bodyguard lmao. Since the Forsaken have mainly (and only recently) gotten legacy characters, pre-WoW time, I’d be more than happy with the Alliance getting legacy Horde characters. Maybe we can Light-resurrect Kilrogg and co. Give the Alliance an army of Light Orcs. Fun times. Maybe you can even have Zul’jin lol. Dunno that Alliance players would want that but hey, if it’s fair, it’s fair.
Meanwhile the Forsaken should get Alonsus Faol and Uther the Lightbringer. Fair trade to me.
The conflict were not “settled”. If anything I would say Arathi Basin was still a thing in BfA and Warsong Gulch was won by the night elves until BfA(the short story mentioned the night elves the Mogushar(sic) Rampart) but after the War of thorns I expect that battle heated up again.
