Cross-faction collusion

Will this or has this been addressed by Blizzard yet? Was with a friend hunting Devilsaurs and this group of Horde kept trying to snipe our skins. When that didnt work, a group of Alliance came by and camped us while leaving the other Horde untouched. Attempting to kill any Alliance results in the opposite faction sheeping them to full hp. This happened on Stalagg. I’ve heard rumors that Blizz is still making a decision on approaching the issue, but thats about it.

On one hand, I remember that one of the ToS was no communication between opposing factions.

On the other, I think the cutthroat-ness to this market is pretty entertaining and that alliances are made in different ways.

Typical < Grizzly > n’ friends behavior. Welcome to Stalagg.

Blizz doesn’t control/monitor Discord, telephones, etc. This makes collusion impossible to prove which means that Blizz isn’t going to touch this. Your options are: 1.Go do something else, 2. Find a PvP solution to your PvP problem, 3 Reroll on a PvP server, 4. Quit.

kinda hard for him to find a pvp solution when his pvp solution is helping the other team kill him

It’s a big server, there’s more than one guild/group.

Why can’t people form their own coalition to camp these colluders? Destroy their monopolization of the devilsaurs.

Why don’t people just cheat so they can beat the cheaters?! Makes no sense, grow a brain!

Steal kills/skins from your own faction by being faster.

Kill opposite faction that tries to kill you. If they have 5 people, bring 10.

You aren’t stuck with accepting collusion. A mafia is only as strong as its ability to keep you under their thumb. Gotta fight back and take back over.

Well either you can find a solution that actually fits the in game story, because Horde and Alliance have cooperated against a common enemy in the classic timeline and before or you can keep crying on the forums.

The choice is yours.

To be fair I do TOTALLY get your perspective, esp in this day in age.

It would simply be nice if the return to Classic included the hiring of a solid team of GMs to help fix these kinds of things like there was back in the Golden-Era. Today, all that reasonably CAN be done is, as you said, work to gather your own counter-force and build your own Devilsaur Mafia in order to fight the original one.

Hi I’m Glinda.

Quit.

Say your quitting?

Can I have your stuff?

Unfortunately Blizzard cannot prevent out of game communication between players and there’s no way for them to even prove it’s happening if people are using Discord or other third party software. If I had any sort of motivation I would build up a coalition outside of game, take over the devilsaur market completely and give huge discounts to the coalition members, nice discount to normal people and double price for the current guilds doing to monopolization. That’s like something straight out of Eve Online though. Takes a lot of effort, brings in a lot of politics but could be worth it.

To be fair, if you’re attacking someone, that person does not get “sheeped to full HP.”

No joke. Why even have a PvP feature if nobody is actually going to use it. You can’t call people out here, but you certainly can call people out on your realms. In fact, you can take note of names and guild names and have a multi-faction bloodbath over devilsaurs.

That… or roll on a PvE server so collusion is literally impossible.

TBF a decent GM with the exact same tools that the lowly CS reps have could easily take a no-clip flyover the Crater and simply watch the act taking place, it’s completely overt and obvious when this kind of thing happens, two groups of cross faction players zooming around not killing each other, trading kills, and killing anyone who isn’t a part of the two groups.

Wishful thinking though, I know.

The PvP feature is getting abused by the mafia. Everyone typing “pvp solution to a pvp problem” is either lobotomized, trolling or benefiting from the current setup. I’m not sure who falls in what camp so I want make any accusations but its pretty incredible to see so many people actively defending horde healing and saving allies when trying to use that PVP solution you keep harping on.

Not only is there very clearly something wrong in principle that breaks the spirit of the game but this is also funding a huge chunk of the gold selling market, something that WILL crush this games economy and then the game itself in enough time. Blizzard should do something about it, but what they should do I don’t know.

Like someone said earlier, a GM can literally just fly over Un’goro and watch it happen; its quite obvious whats being done.

I have never experienced this, but I have heard of it happening at a time before 2019 Classic was released.

Does that mean it was a vanilla feature that was resurrected?

In any case, people are playing to burn themselves out. Either assemble a PvP solution, or give it a few months and they’ll be gone.

Bud, you’re not understanding. This is not a pvp solution because your own faction comes in to stop you from what youre doing and your own faction gives your coords to allys to come camp you but not the other horde in their coalition. It is against blizzard TOS to collude like that.

Secondly, this isnt just going to “stop in time”. This is a hugely in demand resource with a massive price. This type of activity is what funds gold sellers and those will stay, and grow, throughout the lifetime of the game.

Again, there is no PVP solution to cross faction collusion. Stop defending people breaking the spirit of the game and selling gold. Pick which one you are: lobotomized, trolling or benefiting from the monopoly.

Okay. Assuming I’m incapable of understanding, I’m still not incorrect. If two factions can be used to form a cartel, two factions can also be used to combat them.
