In a 2022 roleplaying game, I think it should be possible to cross transmog across all armor types on any class. I.E - Plate into cloth, cloth into plate, mail into leather, etc.
And to anyone claiming mages wearing plate is stupid, battlemages have existed for almost as long as games like WoW have existed. You can even transmog your cloth wearer’s armor into the Stormwind City Guard armor added in WoD.
I don’t see any reason why that can’t be made universal for all armor types.
We should also be able to manually add any item to our collection, regardless of armor type/character we’re on.
They’d have to safeguard that system somehow to prevent need/greed chaos in groups, but there’s no reason we shouldn’t have a right click/add to wardrobe option on any item regardless of armor class.
I’d like to see some loosening that still tracks with intuitive limitations, e.g. platewearers gaining access to mail and mailwearers gaining access to leather, but I very much dislike the idea of a free-for-all.
Only way I’d be ok with no restrictions is if the transmog fee were multiplied by however many armor classes away from your native class a piece is, so like if you’re a clothie you can mog yourself to look like a warrior sure, but it’s going to cost you an arm and a leg.
Yea thats what Blizz has stated a few times. But as always they just dont bother trying to add it until enough people complain and quit. Just like any other feature in the game.
Truely sad… Its a feature I enjoyed in Ultima Online, Guildwars, Lord of the Rings Online and currently in Guild Wars 2.
Is the word ‘roleplay’ in RPG flying over your head or something? This is a little comical considering you play on MoonGuard.
I’m not asking them to “add” armor pieces to the game. I’m asking for an obsolete limitation to be removed that’d make the game more enjoyable for players. It sucks looting a nice looking item and not being able to transmog it because it doesn’t fit your class.
Cosmetic armor sets, especially the stupid kind like pyjamas, are a plague on this game in all honesty. I’d rather my fantasy game to not have super silly onesies or Guard plate uniform wearable by everyone.
its a silly restriction at this point given there are so many cloth mogs that look like plate and vice versa. We’ve posted wowhead links showing that its factually true.
Ion doesnt care. lol He’ll refuse to relent because its in his nature.
It shouldn’t matter to you what other people wear on their characters. If you don’t like it, that’s fine. Don’t do it.
Also, there are plenty of plate pieces that look like cloth, and even a few cloth pieces that look like plate. Mainly belts, gloves, leggings, boots, and even a few shoulders. What if you wanted your Paladin to look like an inquisitor or something?
