Criticism - The Kirin Tor questline

Yeah, it should be a out why the Kirin Tor is necessary. By the questline alone, it feels even the idea of reforming it is pointless.

That could indeed be a good way to include the history and wrap it up with World of Warcraft’s…lack of continuity or consistency.

But, I think the writers ultimately hit a tough road block when trying to consider whether or not Garithos is relevant to Blood Elf + Human relations or if the Bloof Elve’s misfortune at the hands of Garithos is relevant to mention.

How can Blood Elves take the stand and accuse … modern Dalaran, which is not closely related to the Dalaran of 20 years ago? This is a tough topic to cover. Blood Elves have the trauma element to mistrust humans … but they also suffered much, much worse at the hands of Orcs, Trolls and Undead which they are allied with. Now obviously, the Orcs, Trolls and Undead they’re allied with are not all participants of the Second War + Destruction of Quel’thalas. The same can be said for Garithos, Dalaran and how it is related to Humans/Dalaran + Blood Elves.

The Horde they’re part of [especially at the time of TBC] includes Orcs that ravaged Eversong Woods and turned half of it into the Ghostlands, it can be argued that Trolls from the Second War are ultimately also present in Thrall’s Horde at this time, and the Forsaken which can certainly be argued were present for the destruction of Quel’thalas.

So because of their allyship with their enemies who greatly, greatly wronged their people and there is seemingly no mention of it [because it was horrible writing] it seems silly for Blood Elves to hold a grudge over Dalaran Imprisonment + Garithos.

I big time agree with all of your other points, but this one in particular is just very, very tough to reconcile because of all of the other factors. This is a common symptom that World of Warcraft has; there’s so, SO much more they could do with Warcraft’s setting, universe, characters and plot but they consistently miss the easy lay ups and give us something no one wants instead.

For me that questline confirmed that who ever writes these quest lines is not familiar with past lore. Also the consistent need to make anything mage related a Harry Potter pun, or Easter Egg is getting old.

Also ironically if you interacted with the other mages at the final gathering, their say interactions; half of them didn’t even know why they were there and then they all just ported out lol.
